Eventually recruiting becomes tougher and tougher when the results continue to speak volumes, doesn't it? Imagine if the glorified recruiting HC is hamstrung at his only differentiating prowess.
 
Clearly its not just the 'Jimmy's & the Joe's' anymore.

Yes-talent matters.

But talent is everywhere now. Its more dispersed. And everyone is paying.

Successful teams are made up of a decent amount of talent and a decent amount of proper 'X & O's' strategery.

its bc hes a manny guy and mario told the narrative that all the manny guys stunk and were the problem.

now the culture looks like **** again with beck yelling at coaches, throwing tantrums on the field, lack of discipline, off field issues with multiple players (one since charged with felonies), etc.

culture is bull**** in general. its an excuse when youre losing. the culture will stink when the team sucks and the vibes are great when the team is on top.
 
I’m actually at a loss for words. Mario really sat up there and said SMU has just as much talent as we have. I have no clue why he would say that publicly. I don’t know what message he’s trying to send, but that is flat-out wild to hear from our head coach. I’m speechless. This program is supposed to be about standards and identity. Saying something like that takes the edge off our own locker room. It makes no sense at all.
 
You think Mario could take our 87 team and go undefeated? 😂 doesn’t matter who he recruits or gets from the portal. never mind developing talent he doesn’t know what to do with it.
