Some of you might be fooled by the jumps in improvement of players on your ncaa football for xbox or playstation. I am not defending the defense schemes, they arent aggressive but its due to the level of talent we have. Look at the units

DL- AQM and Kamalu will be very productive next year. I think our expectations for Chickillo are too high. Shayon green is a converted linebacker who wasnt highly touted. The man considered to be our most talented DT is olsen pierre, a prep school kid no one knew of until golden came here. Renfrow couldnt start at VA. Curtis Porter is a 2/3 star from NC who has never been healthy. Luther is a former 3/4 star who's daddy has to get involved because his son couldnt figure out how to get on field. Earl Moore is a back up who hasn't had a chance to develop because he had to play as a true fresh instead of redshirt. Jelani our 4 star, cant stay healthy. other than that we picked up grimble, a nevada 5 star, who was a bust and Dequan Ivery, who we stole from l-ville but apparently like Jacoby Briscoe, he preferred video games or weed. Corey King was a late signee with few options. There is not a dt on this team more talented than the kids we are hopefully bringing.

LB- Right now our starters should be Eddie Johnson, Gionni Paul, and Denzel. Gabe Terry would be a back up keeping ty off the field and allowing us to redshirt Grace.
Instead, we are forced to start Gaines and Ty, who suck. (i think coaches have been too loyal to seniors) Ty like Amrbrister is a converted safety. (Armbrister was a late signee who had few offers). Figs is currently injured.Figs, Kirby, and Grace along with the kids coming in are Miami caliber athletes. I think Kirby and Figs will make a big jump next year. Lets be real, if ej, gionni, and denzel were starting with gabe terry getting alot of minutes, we are much better. all those kids play hard. i guess mccord falls into a lb. he is a playmaker but not used to play standing up so while in position to make a play, he is still learning how to tackle in the open field.

Secondary- Tracy, Crawford, Gunter, Artie, and Jenkins have all improved. Tracy is all conference in my opinion. Deon will bounce back, he just never recovered and needs an offseason to get back in shape. Jamal Carter in my opinion with a good offseason will be much better than Kacey and AJ. Kacy and Aj are afraid of contact. bush, Jenkins, and Carter arent. The problem is this secondary needs a good pass rush.

I think our talent is very limited, thus, coaches have been overly cautious. I think we are brining in a ton of talent who "belong" here. the coaches kind of **** me off when they say "the seniors stuck with us" because reality is most of these kids wouldnt be taken by another major conference team if they did want to transfer.
Main thing is to get some of these defensive guys in as early enrollees. The future is brighter but lets be real, Saban isnt fixing these scrubs.

I agree with you on some of your points. Overall I think it will be at least 2 seasons of good recruiting to really see what the defense is suppose to look like. We need to get in DT's like Valentine, Wyche and Moten to pair up with young talent like Moore and Hamilton. Until we get a little depth on the DLine, our back end is going to suffer. I think we are very close at least, this upcoming season though. We need another JUCO DT to pair with Wyche and play those freshman a few snaps just to get them a taste.

i am very happy if wyche and juwon ee because they will be in weightroom and go through spring practices. hopefully others do too.

Great complain about people attacking NoD and start threads defending him by saying your not defending him. Thats exactly what you are doing. Saban would bamboozle Duke VT and WF etc with Bethune Cookman players. gtfoh with that bull. Everyone concede we are not matching the top dogs. But scrub as 2 win teams like UVA 500 yards. Pitt 106th rank offense ....500 yards. That would never happen under any competent DC. They would find a way to make these players look respectable.

yeah but bama and fsu can go 3 deep. how much has are defense been on field this year? i will guarantee our offense which has an experienced ol and experienced sr qb has been on field alot less than bama or fsu.

When has Saban "bamboozled" other teams with little talent at his disposal?

I said he would bamboozle WF VT and those horrid offenses. U can't tell me otherwise. If he had our players, no way those teams shred us like they have been for 3 years. No way. Thats reserve for no D

You said he would bamboozle them with Bethune Cookman players. And I'm asking you when he has bamboozled mediocre teams with little talent. That's all. You made a claim, let's see some evidence.

OP Is a ******

Al Golden has failed to develop the good enough talent that's on the team and he has failed to bring in talent to fill in wholes at certain positions.

Also Al Golden has failed to win w/ the talent on this team thats good enough to win the Coastal

Regardless Golden is to blame anyway you want to slice it ******

So is it our lack of talent the reason we don't ever disrupt the timing of WRs, setup in formations that make it impossible to set the edge and run slow developing stunt blitzes?

I'll give you that the defensive talent is not were it needs to be.

However, the defensive coaching has been worse.

Agreed. Fire him and bring in Tyrone Willingham.

Thank God, some hope there are rational people with perspective and logic.

I will say, gained insight from Gokden's post game as to the thought process behind this bend don't break D. It was clear with all the "Jeff Poppovich's" having to play on D that an aggressive attacking D was not an option for them.

The real question and it is very legitimate, because it is unknown, is when the cupboard is full with quality talent, does the philosophy change? Will they be more aggressive? Will they be more aggressive when they have talent across the board? I don't know and, unlike the wannabe coaches here who base their expertise because they watch football and are really good at Madden, or they coach pee wee or high school football, I don't have the answer for that. Could he be another Tom Olivadotti? Perhaps, if so then yes he has to go. Or perhaps they change their tune when they have the players.

Players win, talent makes coaches look good, all my years of watching football, of listening to former players both personally and in media form, of hearing from some of the great coaches, all say the same it's about the talent first, then the coaching.

Personally seeing how on offense where we have more talent we have been aggressive, I feel and hope the same will be true when we are equally talented on the defensive side of the ball.

Funny thing is most of these same bashers were the same shortsighted guys who were behind the "National Champs to National Chumps, thanks Butch" way back when

Fire Golden and hire a coach that actually came from an elite coaching tree of winners not a bunch of losers like Al Groh and Tim O'Brien.

Get Jedd Fisch back as the Head Coach or higher James Coley both would make a better Head Coach..... if the "higher ups" are willing to give Temple coaches a shot at running Miami's football program (to the ground) then it shouldnt be much to consider hiring a coach that came from Nick Saban, Les Miles, and Jimbo Fisher.

So 9-3, no more NCAA worries, and a ridiculous incoming recruiting class is "running Miami's football program to the ground"? Good thing you aren't a UF fan. You would have murdered someone by now.

Al Golden is running this program to the ground by lowering expectations and calling it "success" but since he says the right things it's ok..... isnt that the motto around here?

Based on where we were under the last coach, our season record, and our recruiting, we ARE having success. If your only definition of success is playing like the 2001 team, then you are going to keep asking for coaches to be fired.

first off, he is a joe paterno disciple also. Second, we lost some of our most talented players on defense in offseason. Bush was injured and not 100% and ej, gionni and gabe left which is why the scrubs seniors are playing. if you dont think ncaa sanctions hurt, my friend coached a 4 star rb last year, david williams who went to south carolina even though he liked miami because an sec coach told him miami was already sanctioned and was hiding it until after signing day. he believed that. he isnt the only one.

Yeah.....like Will Muschamp and Derek Dooley. They would be great hires, coming from the Saban tree. They might be available after the season.
