Talent Part II: Electric Boogaloo

The only reason guys like Thurston and olsen even have a grade is because they play for the u olsen and Thurston are terrible would be back ups at wake forest

Surely, that's what was said about Luther Robinson last year, except he's gotten enough of a look by the NFL. At the same time, guys from Duke, GT and an assortment of other teams who've given us problems over the past couple seasons don't even get an opportunity. The NFL is as cut throat as it comes. There are limited roster and practice squad spots available. If you're looking for an indicator on talent, it'll be on chances the NFL gives a player in the hopes they can build a product to sell back to customers.

You must be one of the handful of guys who I've non-stop argued with over the past couple seasons that we are, at the very least, as talented as some of these other ACC teams giving us problems. Glad you're at least still showing your face. The rest have gone into hiding.

Those ten are spread across the field as well.

There could easily be ten more next year.

Incompetence. Plain and simple.

He had to take certain bums that transfered just to have bodies you do remember we were basically going to get the death penalty

The cloud was long gone. Golden missed on every single one of his NSD targets at the end of the previous recruiting cycle. He then proceeded to add "certain bums" like Joe Brown and Tyler Grimsley after NSD because he couldn't hang onto Reilly Gibbons and had to resort to "beating out" the likes of UAB and Weber State for completely obscure recruits.

What's the excuse for his failure there?

Ok, thought you were serious and were pushing discussion. I can see you're trolling your *** off. "The Cloud" got you. You would have freaked out in the mid to late 90s. We were running a skeleton crew.

do you know why he had to take bums? B/c of his own fault. 30% of Golden's class ain't on the roster, homie. Some were kicked off the team due to off the field issues. Some transferred, and some didn't qualify from the jump. Golden's "intangibles" as a recruiter is overrated. Another 20% of his class are just JAGs. Facts are facts and the fact is this guy is stealing money from the university and have some of you cats shooked up in the head. No one will argue that he's a nice guy...no one will argue that he's sort of a father figure, but he's not a good coach, son. Face the facts, it will be easier. I use to be a slurper once, too, but then when I started to crunch the numbers and replaying Golden's excuses, it wasn't adding up anymore. Come to the light...it's much better on this side.

Lol 4 of those 10 won't even get drafted stop reaching guys

stop talking if you dont understand the context, the same applies to all those schools, unless everyone one of them is in the top half.

Golden take certain bums because of the death penalty...GT, Duke take bums because thats all they can afford. Lets not kid ourselves. Like i said, watch the FSU game and tell me we are not toe to toe with them and better in alot of positions than they are. The excuse machine tricked people into thinking Miami is void of talent. No we are void of leaders, in the coaching staff and on the field. We do not possess the mentality nor the resilience to take us back. More importantly we do not possess the know how from the brain trust to do so. Golden mentality is not of Miami caliber teams. You have to have that first then the know how, of which Golden is void. He has never won anything, he does not know to go toe to toe with the big boys. He puls out binders when they pull out machine guns and machetes. Tries to force feed is bullshh philosophy on these kids. Wait to be hit, respect to every opponent etc etc. Wont work. Has nothing to do with talent. We had that, have had that, will always have that. Get rid of the cancer now

Nice report by Bakas. No one should ever argue Miami doesn't have the talent.

I feel like my son just told me he was ***. He's -3 months right now, but this really hurts.

I feel like this **** is so painfully obvious how awful he is and how he needs to be fired, and nothing will happen.

Mondays are stupid.

LULZ at people using "depth" as an excuse for Folden when he's the guy responsible for the depth or lack of depth. Year 4. That's all. Year 4.

Any HC who gets results on the field can clean up down here in recruiting. Location. Location. Location. Location is the great equalizer. The street agents and hustlers only become an issue when the HC has to try to hard to explain his way around all his failures on the field. Once you have to start explaining away too many failures, people get wise to you down here and the vortex swallows you up. At that point, he becomes a beggar, and he becomes beholden to the scum.

If he's a winner, the community embraces him and he can have his choice of the local talent. It's that simple. There's no genius to it. You win, and everyone wants to be part of the winning local program. You don't have to try hard to explain away your 118th ranked defense or your constant losses to inferior programs.

You don't have to be a local guy or familiar with the local ways or any of that ****. Our best recruiting HCs were rednecks straight outta Arkansas.

Our why you didn't recruit Skai Moore and James Burgess but took New Jersey slow pokes who couldn't lace their boots.
