I have defended Manny but love what is happening now but cannot hate him. Just look at today's team and Manny recruits starting with TVD. We owe Manny some respect! He is doing a great job at PSU and I wish him well and I am grateful for those on our roster that he discovered. I also enjoyed the one season of Greg Rousseau and the way he utilized the portal effectively before other coaches realized the potency. I admit he never would've gotten us where Mario is taking us but you haters are embarrassing, pay the man the respect he deserves. I am super glad we have Mario, but cannot ignore what Manny brought in. Look at the lists:

I have always said Manny was a good DC. Problem is he should have never been hired at Miami. He should have taken the Temple job and when he had established himself as a good game day coach who understood what it meant to be a head coach; then he should have been offered the Miami job. I think he will end up being a head coach again but it will be at a much lesser school.

18/44 is how you build a team? That’s not starters, that’s players still on the roster.

Manny can do fine with someone else’s recruits playing in his defense, maybe. But picking kids on his own to then coach (and be his own DC since no one wanted to join his sinking ship) is not a strong characteristic of his to give him a break as a former head coach of ours.

In 4 years we would have a total of 36 players plus the portal. Not a winning combination.

If it wasn't for Diaz Sr., he would've never been hired.

Don't kid yourself, I'm sure his dad called in some favors.
