Take a deep Breath and put things into perspective

Have no idea if we will make the natty ever again but I do know this. We will be relevant in college football again! Our administration is behind it. Our AD has basically brought us a sec staff. Think about how you felt after cincy this year. At that point most on the board wondered if we had slipped into a black hole of irrelevance that their was no escaping from. We're not even in the same galaxy anymore. Light years away. We might not have have gotten who you wanted but if someone presented you with the coaches we have in place after that cincy loss how would you feel? Much better days ahead fellas....much better days ahead!

In what world is Manny Diaz a good DC. This is a man that was fired mid season from Texas b/c it was such bad defense they couldn't even wait till the season ended.

I love how people just gloss over his seasons at UT, but bring up how much he improved LA Tech.

he is a good dc. his defense have improved almost everywhere he went but texas, and if u paid any attention to texas those 2 yrs u know alot more going on then manny and his d.

db coach had more input on coverages then diaz, the 5 stars they recruited just didnt pan out, firing diaz didn't help that d at all and mack brown ended up resigning at end of year, alot more going on with texas then diaz. i don't think bill belichick could of done much there with what was going on last few years under mack brown.

now diaz isn't perfect he takes sometimes to many chances, but he is a solid d coordinator who is young hungry and up and coming. he usually has defenses that are top 30 in scoring top 15 in redzone td pct, top 20 in tfl's and turnovers , the stats that matter.

now with miami athletes will be fun to see what he can do. keep in mind texas was in a bad place when he got that job, going downhill and politics didn't help him do his job. db coach wanted to play more man then zone and got his way. his d at msu both times improved under him,

he doesn't have a huge track record either as msu was 1 yr both times, texas was 2 yrs 1 game. so don't know what it looks like when he has 3-4 yrs at a place but he deserves a shot at miami and to be given a shot. he is a solid hire. not perfect but no one is perfect.

people on here act like no one deserves a second chance. if that was true belichick wouldn't be greatest coach in nfl, if that was true guys like vince lombardi would never of become legends. people fail, learn and get better. usually, not always so its time to jump on board be glad its not donofrio and give them a chance to at least coach a game.

I know your schtick is to really bash this guy. He has some warts. But pump the breaks a bit, eh? He's probably somewhere in the 40 range if you were ranking FBS defensive coordinators. Top half of the SEC as a DC in that conference. Top 1/3 of college football would probably qualify him as a "good" coordinator at his best, "above average" at his worst.

If LSU outbid us for Aranda, then why would anyone feel optimistic that we'll outbid them for Raymond? They've already proven they're willing to spend far more than us.

Being willing to spend more to fill out the staff doesn't mean anything when it's still not enough to bring in your top targets.

Well this was spot on. Nice work mate.
