We are going from the worst coach in school history to a man that won over 75% of his games in the SEC.

We are going from James coley to Mark Richt, who was instrumental in winning Championships for FSU, as an OC.

We are going from a passive 3-4 read and react defense to a hyper-aggressive 4-3 that dictates what the offense can do.

We are going from a guy who was FIU's defensive line coach previously to one of the best of the business at any level of football.

We are going from a former high school coach to Thomas Brown who was instrumental in the development of Melvin Gordon and Nick Chubb.

It's not a matter of IF anymore, it's a matter of WHEN we're back now. As all signs have pointed, it looks to be sooner rather than later.

im with u. those whining wanted aranda. who i didn't think fit what richt wanted to do on d. i felt manny diaz was a good choice. i feel he was richts first hire. i have stated multiple times i expected him to hire an sec d coordinator.

id expect either corey raymond or willie martinez to end up as db coach , i expect most of this coaching staff will have sec experiance. thats what richt knows its what he has coached against for 15 yrs.

if he feels diaz is right choice as dc im in. and diaz is from miami area also.

Correct. The intelligent posters largely agree with you, the genetically deficient will struggle with the truth you have told. Great week to be a cane. Also add in we have fired the most incompetent nincompoop on the staff - the former SC corch.

In what world is Manny Diaz a good DC. This is a man that was fired mid season from Texas b/c it was such bad defense they couldn't even wait till the season ended.

I love how people just gloss over his seasons at UT, but bring up how much he improved LA Tech.

Diaz isn't Dorito, but he's still a CORCH. We now have a staph infection.

Dude, it's about what have you done for me lately!! Ooh, ooh, ooh, yeah!!
Waiting on Raymond

I'd actually prefer Aranda over Diaz but it's nice to see us getting back to our roots and attacking.

Yeah Aranda would be better but if we can get Raymond we're fine. Kool and Raymond will make Diaz life easier

If LSU outbid us for Aranda, then why would anyone feel optimistic that we'll outbid them for Raymond? They've already proven they're willing to spend far more than us.

Being willing to spend more to fill out the staff doesn't mean anything when it's still not enough to bring in your top targets.

and we love how you gloss over who else got fired at the end of that season, the head coach Mack Brown. Diaz joined UT at the pinnacle of their decline whose defenses were respectable until that BYU nightmare. Brown fired Diaz in a knee jerk reaction move in hopes to save his own *** from the disaster he himself built and was canned at seasons end. all of your arguments stem from a midseason firing on a declining powerhouse program. He's never really been at a place an extended time but has virtually improved every team he's had his short stints with. Texas absolutely did not have the talent they had in the past and if anything what he did at the schools that don't pull in 4 and 5 star kids is more impressive. If he was so bad then why did the big bad almighty University of Texas hire him?

Do yourself a favor and read my sig.

Tell me when this man has ever done anything to be given the benefit of the doubt for his horrific UT defenses.

Funny, when Coker was on his last legs, Randy still fielded top ten defenses in the final two Coker seasons.

he's had 1 bad season in 2012 and since 2013 is "incomplete" you are going off of 1 game which to be fair was bad. However, Texas can have whoever they want and went after Diaz then attempted to scapegoat him for Mack's failures which you refuse to mention or admit. Randy also finished the season with Coker where Diaz did not with Brown so your statement is invalid. Texas is the only stop where the head coach that hired him is no longer there which is telling.

-Why would Mullen hire him back if he was "so bad"?
-Coach Kool wasn't retained by his former boss, does that make him an "epic failure hire"?

Again, you remember one game as we all do and your judgement is being clouded by it instead of the overall body of work. Does he have Top 10 defenses consistently? No
Does he bring a 180 from what we had? Absolutely and that alone should get us excited. Is he the home run we all wanted? Likely not but is he a respectable upgrade with a high ceiling? No doubt about it.

We have hired coaches in the past that before they got here, they were not the most wanted out there, i will give the man a shot, **** he plays aggressive and a 4-3, lets see what hes got

If we're going to knock the guy for a horrible game, should we have kept Coach D since his D held the might Mike Leach to 20 points? One game does not a career make, or break.

For all those criticizing the Diaz hire, think or discuss this:

Do you really think HC Richt hired him thinking "this is really not going to work out"? "Let me bring this guy on staff so everyone can call for my head when it doesn't work out x years from now"?

That just isn't in his [Richt's] best interest.

The true perspective is that there are handful of fahgot trolls on this site that want to act like they know everything when they are actually just dudes living in their moms basement who think everything that pops into their heads is the gospel regardless of how many experts state the opposite. That's the internet. If you saw these dudes in real like you would see that they are all carrying their own ***** in a mason jar strapped to the dukes of hazard belt buckle and you would avoid them at all costs but on here you entertain them by actually interacting with them. Its the only human conversation they get. Just keep in mind they have 2 teeth and they stink like **** and they kick there dogs for a living.

Everyone here needs to give a huge thanks for the blessings bestowed on this program in the last 40 days. The administration is back on board and there is a top-shelf coach and person at the head of this football program. Richt and Kool are incredible talents on opposing sides of scrimmage. Inexplicably, fat Al left a solid recruiting base with Swag16. Did we get Buddy Ryan as our DC...No. Are we going to get Bill Walsh as our OC...No.

Who cares. We have quality people moving to Coral Gables as I type (and as a lot of unthankful fans continue to cry) and, most importantly, we have an engaged administration. It's time for all of us fans to get on board and strike toxic threads that recruits probably see and absorb.

I may not be quite as excited as UKnow and Shaq are currently, but I'm close. Come on guys, Let's get excited and get behind these young men. Who knows, it may make the difference in a couple of young recruits mind if they perceive there is a completely positive vibe around this program.

So what kind of dog did FullyELimp kick when you saw him?
