Got an offer at camp.

2/28/15 - Defensive back Thomas Burns (Miami/Northwestern) verbally committed to Miami.

Burns is the younger brother of Miami cornerback Artie Burns.

Thomas Burns said he picked up a verbal offer at camp last summer from the Hurricanes.

"I just called (Hurricanes) coach (Al) Golden and let him know," Thomas Burns said. "He was surprised and happy. My brother said I belong there and that's the place to be. He told me it's a good atmosphere. It's the best school to be at."

Burns (5-10, 155) said he started as a freshman at cornerback opposite of Georgia signee Deandre Baker this past season for Northwestern.

Burns is Miami's second commit in the 2018 class along with Al Blades, Jr

400 meter 50.12 . Best in country 15 -16 yr Olds this season

Ummm...no. The fastest 15-16 year old is running much faster than 50.12, probably under 47

Google says he's quick.

USA Track & Field - Burns Closes Youth Championships with Three Titles

Burns won three titles in only five hours. Burns started out by leaving the field behind in the 13-14 boys’ 200m hurdles in a time of 24.88. Next, he continued his assault on Ralph Korte Stadium in the 400m dash finishing first in 51.07. Showing no signs of fatigue, Burns took down the 100m hurdles in 14.15 in his closest race, as only seven hundredths of a second separated him from the second place finisher.

No chance any 15-16 year old runs under a 47. A 50.12 is blazing fast for someone at that age.

It's not slow, but it's not blazing fast. I ran 50.7 when I was 16, to finish 6th in my Indiana regional. At this years World youth championships a 15 year old Jamaican ran a 45.27 to beat out two 17 year old Americans that also ran under 46.

A 50.12 for a 16 gear old is not blazing its decent, at my school 16 year olds are running in the 48's then again we have one of the best 4 by 4 teams in the country

For 13-14 age group 50.12 is pretty good...the world record is 43.18 right....so yea you ran 50.7 at 16 two years older then burns....
We all know how the Jamaicans get down ok he is 15 years old & 2 seconds off the world record....
Burns will be under the 50 sec mark this upcoming track season he will be ok....when he is 16 he should be under 47 sec with no problem...

He's in the 15-16 age group, I'm assuming 15. So, he likely will be 16 this upcoming track season. By no means am I saying the kid is not fast. the original comment was that 50.12 was the fastest in the nation for 15-16. I'm just pointing out that he's a ways off the best in the nation. Still an impressive time for a 15 yo, especially considering he's probably more focused on the hurdles.
