Syracuse fans on Miami

Anyone else see my frustration with this team that it hurts? It always small things we don't do right on a consistent basis. Thats what KILLS me with this team man. We don't do the small things consistently well. When we correct one small thing then another pops up. It small things that eventually adds up into something big. Our D-line run themselves out of the play WAYYY to often against the run especially our DT. Against FSU LB weren't making proper run fits. Against GT we weren't containing the pitch to the outside. Against Syracuse we could not stop the inside QB/RB draw up the middle and that was literally where all of their total yardage came from. We were also dropping passes that would of been TD or extend drives and we can not for the life of me pound the ball with 1 or 2 yards to go whether it on the Goal-line or for the 1st down.

Richards was awful in the games he played IMO. A lot of drops vs FSU and the same against Syracuse. I just hope he has a Berrios vs FSU like performance vs VT when we really need it.

Listen, ND just ran for 400 yards vs USC and USC has way more 4-stars guy then we do. We better tighten up against the run the rest of the year.

Did you expect to win a national championship this year, dude?

Lol some of these dudes delusional as fuh

We will all need one unless we suddenly figure out how to stop the run. If a team decides to run it 35 times on us, it won’t be good.

Georgia Tech ran it 53 times on us...

I'm ****ed at our OL. The entire season we have looked like pussies at the goal line or on 3rd and short run plays. We can't settle for field goals against VaTech, we gotta be able to slit someone's throat

The ND comment is so true. I didn’t want to make a thread on it but man they are running ppl over. And that’s our biggest weakness right now. Have to fix.

Well ****. I'm sure the offensive line will be upset that you are ****ed at them. They are probably willing to meet with you to discuss your ideas for improvement. Beyond that, are you sure that it is entirely their fault?? Is it the play calling, execution by the QB or defensive schemes that the other team is calling?? When you break down the film, come back and post your results.

I said and say it again. We won't be a dominant team this year, but show me how many times we made plays. People are gonna use being dominant as the barometer. We are not gonna have that.

Bet Clemson would’ve liked to make plays

Some of you are right, I'd much rather be losing pretty than winning ugly....good grief. I'm convinced that many here suffer from Stockholm syndrome from our previous staff.

Not even close. We don't have that type of talent and speed to compete with UGA, Alabama etc. I know most guys want to make the college football playoff but I rather make the Orange or Peach Bowl win that then have recruits lineup trying to get in Miami because it would give the impression that we're REALLY ready for a run at a national title run instead of make the playoffs this year then get drummed 42-0 to Alabama on national TV. Sorry, but I rather not look like a D-III team on national TV like when that Alabama RB made that Michigan State DL do a cartwheel from a stiff-arm.

Bruh, the Orange Bowl is essentially going to be a playoff caliber game. Our opponent will be a team that's in the playoff discussion because it'll be the highest ranked of the SEC or Big 10 that doesn't make it in. Best case is we somehow get Wisconsin by some miracle. Peach Bowl would be a dream scenario because we'd get a group of 5 team, but we'd have to have a higher ranking ACC team to go to the Orange Bowl and get picked up as an at-large. All complicated scenarios, just get into the playoff and we'll get a lot of hype.

That would suck, but maybe you were not around for the first NC game. NE was proclaimed the Greatest Team Ever before that game. We had now shot at all. They were winning by basketball scores. And they were not paper tigers, that was one heck of a team and proved it. That OB game was the greatest ever. This team reminds me a little of that Miami team. Not yet the monsters that JJ would have but so much better than anyone suspected. Bama looks like that unbeatable beast but they our on the top of our mountain and we have to kick them off. We are a long way from playing our best yet. That is a good thing. Nobody has any idea how good that best is.

I was a kid sitting in the WEZ row 117 and when Neb came out of the tunnel they were like refrigerators, I remember Steinkuler(sp) thinking how the **** is Tony Fitzpatrick gonna play with that dude.

Not saying we're as good as they were, but Clemson last year was killed by their fanbase every week (and you could make the argument about Bama fans in regards to their QB/offense). No one thought they were dominant. Shoot, even some of us on here were saying how beatable they looked.

In other words, at no point during the season did they look like a NC team. Struggled with Auburn, Troy, NC State, Lousiville and FSU. They lost to Pitt. V-Tech was competitive against them in the ACCCG.

Sometimes teams come together over a course of a season. You just gotta take every game as a chance to improve and lay your best game when it counts the most. The holes I see in this team aren't so severe that it should prevent us from winning out.

They had 25 rushes for 75 yards in the first half.
I'm more concerned about our offense being more consistent and helping out our D

GT and SU ran the ball over 50 times.

Went over to their board and their pretty intelligent fans who deal in reality. I always like to read what opposing fans say about us and here are some things they said:

*They admitted that if we didnt have so many dropped passes by 82 the game would'nt have been as close.
*They also think that Rosier is much better then Kaaya and we have a bright future with him
* They think that our D line was more impressive then Clemsons
*We looked more condition then Clemson
*Our field was ******
*We ratted Dungey early and he was never the same when dropping back
* They said they hit Rosier a bunch of times and it never seemed to bother him one bit
*They also feel they were outplayed by Miami and we deserved the win more so then LSU or NC State and that we are better then both of those teams..

Before half time when the teams had to come back onto the field for the review they had the cameras on Dungy and to me he looked shocked then. He had this depressed sulking look about himself. Yea, he took our hits and kept coming but that’s what your suppose to do.

What drops against FSU? He literally took over the game against Duke. When he came out of the game, we didn't move the ball. Him at 75% demands so much attention.

He had 3 drops yesterday and still had 100 yards. That's the type of talent he is.

Hopefully playing this terrible UNC team this week will help us be able to play a full 60 mins on both sides of the ball.

My frustration is with fans who cant even enjoy a win for a few hours before ing about things. We are a young team in the 2nd year of a new system LEARNING howto win and we are winning. Try looking at the positives and leave it to the coaches to fix the negatives.

Every week I say "I know this can't last...we'll mess up too many things at the same time one of these days. Just not today please."

I do the same thing! I have ulcerative colitis & I'm in the middle of terrible flare up. These close games are gonna put me in the hospital. I need a week without a close game just as much as the AP voters do.

First. U, and the vast majority of Cane fans, and college football fans in general, get all CAUGHT UP in the ' star ratings ' and what not. hUh.

Second. Did U ever consider that some of those ' 5/4-Star ' prep players are OVERRATED! dUh.

And finally, I want to see Miami sign as many FIVE-STAR/FOUR-STAR prep players as possible!
