Golly, gee I don't which of the 2 games gave me more joy than
my marriage:
1) Canes 57 Notre Dame 7. I was there, there, there. Vinnie destroyed them for ever more.
What was post game fun when ESPN, Musberger, and an ex ND coach decried how
terrible it was. Jimmy J. responded that I had my 2nd and 3rd strings, and what was
I supposed to do ? Tell our boys not to score ! No, it's your job to stop us.

2) Canes 28 Oklahoma 16. I sat on the highest row in the OB and worried if
a cloud came through I'd miss the action for a bit.
The play, though, that I'll never forget is when Vinnie scrambled laterall with
Bosworth on his tail who quickly became winded, and Vinnie still scrambled
for a first down. I thought the stadium roar would shake its foundation.

The foregoing was like Christmas morning for me, a fanatical Canes fan.

1) Actually, 58-7 to end Gerry Faust's career at Notre Dame:smile:

2) Cotton Bowl, 1991. Canes 46, Texas 3 -- just as much fun as ND blowout in 1985.

Still my favorites are ALL wins over FSU and UF.

I live for the games against those two enemies.

1992 Wide Right II: Miami 19 FSU 16. A bit of a unique experience for me, I think I was 9 years old and we were moving to Jacksonville from Hollywood shortly after Hurricane Andrew convinced my parents to leave S Florida. We listened to the game most of the drive, and I remember it being such a tightly contested game culminating in that missed FG for FSU.

2001 and 2003 Miami vs FSU games. They are 2a and 2b for me. The beatdown in 2001 during our National Title run was special, and the 2003 game that Sean Taylor seemed to take over defensively. Beating FSU is always great, but beating them at Doak is icing on the cake.
