SVP Throws up The U 🙌🏽

we will pass utah tuesday and honestly byu ahead of us doesn't even matter

loser of BYU / Texas Tech in the big 12 title game is likely out

that means we need to move up 1 spot

we have to win and have 1 of these things happen:

oregon @ Washington

bama @ auburn

LSU @ Oklahoma

also need Ohio State to win so Michigan doesn't find itself above us, vandy losing to Tennessee would also be great so vandy doesn't jump us

I kinda agree but not on all fronts
We need TT to Win, if they lost a close
Game to 12-1 BYU they likely both go to CFP

I’d like to think Oregon losing would drop them
Out, except they are b10 team! Not sure acc team beats out a 10-2 B10 or SEC team
If loss was big…maybe

OU and Bama loss - yes they are out at 9-3

We also prob want SMU winning out to make our crappy loss look less crappy

And

We
Need
To
Blow the doors off PITt

Say Michigan jumps us; they’re still outta the playoffs unless Bama loses. I think we jump Utah but still have BYU ahead of us after Tuesday.

We jumped Vandy after beating NC State; I feel like we are very secure and they aren’t going to put Vandy in contention. They already had Utah above em which made little sense as Vandy’s two losses were ranked higher than Utah’s two losses (before Bama and Texas both lost).

I believe Lane Kiffin winning the egg bowl and going to UF/LSU is nearly the same effect as Ole Miss losing. They’re trying to enforce a one session transfer portal, and kids don’t wanna FAFO. No way would both Ole Miss’ staff as well as Ole Miss’ roster be considered stable.

BYU is my biggest fear outta all the teams. I think they could get the last spot. But i am still unsure how we are going to jump Bama ourselves. I kinda feel like lane kiffin leaving is the best chance we have at getting in lol

I think byu will lose to Texas Tech again in big 12 title game... I think there's a chance that even Texas Tech is out if they lose that game. they have never left a conference title loser out before but they've also never been faced with a bigger problem than Miami / ND and they'll have to decide to tackle that nightmare or get both in by kicking Texas Tech out

byu isn't already "in" so them losing the big 12 title game will push them out

bama winning out would mean they jump ND

Oklahoma or oregon losing in addition to the two above would mean that ND is 9 and Miami is 10

if oklahoma and oregon win, bama wins out and wins the SEC, and BYU loses the big 12 title game then ...

ND is 10, miami is 11

they won't be able to ignore head to head

I'm not saying we're in over ND, I'm saying they'll have to do something egregiously obvious or get both teams in

also, they have would never leave an SEC title loser out or a big 10 title loser out

but a big 12 title loser? if its byu then definitely and if Texas Tech loses to byu

then they'd have to choose a Texas Tech team over us that just lost to byu and the biggest controversy in the history of the playoff (letting ND in over us) or dropping Texas Tech and finding clever ways to get both teams in

Michigan hasn’t exactly faced a gauntlet either.
Yeah, it’s a rivalry game so who knows; but their best wins right now are over 8-3 Washington (+14) and 7-4 Nebraska (+3). USC at 8-3 could make a case they’re still the better team.

Michigan -11 vs OU; -18 vs USC

USC -2 vs Illinois; -10 vs ND; -15 vs Oregon

Smaller point differential & won the H2H.

I don’t see Bama jumping ND for beating Auburn who is 5-6.

They will be given a golden goose egg if Lane leaves after the Egg Bowl. To me, that’s the most probable scenario, and In that scenario, I could see one of Miami or BYU getting in.

The difficulty lies in the fact that last season; the two Big 12 CCG participants were ranked 15th and 16th at 10-2. And Clemson was 17, and BYU (not playing) was 18. So the drop off was much easier.

SMU was ranked 8th and fell to 10th. 10-3 Clemson only moved up one to 16th; w/ 9-3 South Carolina, who beat Clemson a week prior, remained at 15. They won so obviously they got in at 12th but the final rankings are interesting to detail their process. ASU moved up to 12th, which was the 11th seed.

9-3 Alabama remained the eleventh place ranked team sandwiched between SMU and the 11-2 ASU big12 champs squad.

Since this season will have two champs from outside the top 12, we need to be at least tenth to be secure.

I just want us to be above BYU because Im not sure if a loss is going to keep us out. It didn’t keep SMU out; and Im sure BYU will use that same appeal. **** if TT loses Im not sure we are getting in lol. They may give Tech that spot.

If Miami jumps Utah, per the BS the committee stated, they would now use the head to head match up. That would mean Miami would have to be ranked 9th or 10th. With Notre Dame falling to 11th

Need Tennessee to beat Vandy, BYU to lose to TT in the championship and then SMU lose ACC title game. That would be the clearest path and even possibly get us to 9/10 at worst.

Texas tech isnt out if they lose to byu. They already beat them earlier in the year and have drubbed almost everyone else they played

IMO, BYU beating TT in conference championship game is one of the worst things that could happen to Miami.

The committee likely won’t punish TT for losing a title game and they will be last year’s ACC with 2 teams.

Michigan beating Ohio State - I think Michigan is too far back but I can see them putting them ahead of Miami but still out of the playoff.

If we don’t win the ACC we’d rather have smu win it

All this guessing and hypotheticals where we can get left out are why I am hoping we make the ACC game. Win the ACC game and we are automatically in and likely get bumped for avenging our loss to smu (if we play them)
