Suspicious Timing

We've known about Perry's video for a few months now. Its extremely odd that the media and school would wait until now to make this into a big deal.

The timing of this makes me think it was done on purpose.

Coupled with the recent Williams transferring/not transferring debacle.

I have no proof or sources, it just seems to me like they're trying to burn Perry because Richt isn't an effective disciplinarian. He cant keep his QB room in order.

Far as I can tell the school hasn't done anything. It was the student newspaper that made an issue of it. The University has extremely little influence over what is written in The Miami Hurricane.

As far as I'm concerned this was an idiot kid working for the paper who was more concerned with getting a little credit for an old story than the football program as a whole. Bringing this up months later and reporting on it strikes me as more irresponsible than the act itself (which was really irresponsible).

Regardless, I think Kosi is on extremely thin ice, and if we had more depth at QB would probably be gone already.

Richt is using this video as a reason to give Rosier his going away present. If anyone on this board believe they just found out about the video is a complete dummie and will fall for any trick. Now if Perry failed a resent drug test then that's what could have made him get suspended. I don't believe Perry would be this stupid to continue to act like a child with so much on his shoulders now. I need confirmation of timing of when each happen before I believe anything coming out of Richts decisions.

Or maybe it took them some time to get wind of it and authenticate it.

The school should not have influence over what the paper publishes and it should not be the paper's responsibility to protect or ignore stories b/c they are about the football team. Now I dont think they should be on some vendetta looking for issues either, but there doesnt seem to be some rash of stories reporting on every little thing a football player has done wrong.

We should be upset with Perry for doing it as opposed to the paper for publishing it.
 
Yeah I thought Perry already got suspended for this video. Now he is getting yet another suspension??

I agree on timing part but not the idiot kid reporter part. It’s news and should’ve been reported two months ago.

We’re good w Jarren and Cade though

Agree and disagree. No, the University should not have much say about what the paper publishes. Yes, the paper should be unbiased toward the football program. Yes, Perry is responsible for his actions. But it serves absolutely no one any good to bring this up from months ago and write a story on it. It's old news and does reek of a vendetta against Kosi in particular.

Is it news if it happened two months ago and is highly inconsequential?

The kid did something stupid. The post was taken down. It doesn't SEEM like anyone was harmed by it. I don't see how it's news at all.
