Has anyone seen the schedule yet?

I would hope that since these people made us play on the road at the ***-crack of dawn, they'll let us start the series on Saturday?

Louisville has an RPI of 28, Miami is 35.

Miami's SOS was 7, Louisville's was 26.

They actually had a worse record than us in the ACC (15-15 for them, 15-14 for us so pretty much a wash), went to the ACC Tourney and lost to Pitt, one of the worst teams in the conference. Sound familiar?

They finished 31st in the country in batting average, and 33rd in runs, but it was their pitching that won them the regional.

They won the 2 vs 3 game on Friday 8-3 vs East Tennessee State, with their starter (Forbes) going 6 innings only giving up 2 hits, and they only gave up 3 as a team.
Game 2 they beat the #1 overall seed in their ballpark, 3-2, only giving up 5 hits to Vandy.
And then blanked Wright State 6-0 in the final, only giving up 2 hits.

So they gave up 10 hits in 27 innings in the Nashville Regional, and swept it 3-0. Insane for a team who finished 103rd in America in ERA.

Go Canes!

Bruh I still cannot believe the team I was watching in March is now in the Supers.

March?

We played a game on May 17th, and another on May 20th.

We lost 12-2 on May 17th, and 12-2 again (in 8 innings!) on May 20th to Cal (!!!). That was 2 weeks ago.

**** March...entering the regional, we had won ONE baseball game since May 7th.

You're right. I just remember seeing the team in March and didn't think JD would make it to April - but then we had that little run before the team fell apart again.

We're a bipolar baseball team.

Extremely well coached and will put pressure on us running the bases. They steal a lot of bases and at a very successful clip.

One would think these are going to be 5-3 type games...maybe a touch higher. No mistakes and no freebies.
Saw the one guy is like 48-49 on the year stealing bases. Multiple others in the 30+ range.

ETSU people I know that went to Nashville said they thought they should have/could have beaten Louisville. They just let it get away in the 4th walking the leadoff guy and later in the inning balking a runner from 2nd to 3rd that scored on a sac fly. Then in the 5th they gave up 2 2 strike homeruns.

Just couldn't put them away. Not sure if that is Louisville's identity but they did a lot of damage on mistakes with 2 strikes but put themselves in the hole with 2 strikes to begin with. All 3 homeruns hit with 2 strikes and 6/7 RBIs came with 2 strikes.

Series odds isn’t out yet, but looks like Louisville might be a slight favorite

Ciscar does a good job of holding runners, but Tanner's throws will need to be a lot better than they were the last few weeks of the season.

No matter what happens this weekend, this has to be the jumping off point to getting the baseball program back where it needs to be. The last decade plus have mostly been an embarrassment for a major program located in South Florida. Hopefully JD and the people in charge of baseball know how to take advantage this momentum.
