Sun on a cloudy day

Point 1 and 2 are like tieing our hands behind our back. There is no reason to hope Blake moves on to greener pastures - that's something reserved for folks that aren't the living embodiment of the Peter Principle. He's not getting another job that pays like AD, let alone an AD job. His performance was worthy of being fired outright as many as 3 football coaches ago. JUST DO IT!

Instead of posturing so that potential coaches believe the commitment will continue and that they will like the new AD, why don't we just lock in an AD that leaves no doubt first?
For some reason, they like to keep everything out of the public eye.

That said, at a past job I've seen someone who was told they should start looking for another job decide that they had the clout to ride out the storm. Their opportunity to walk away to a new job ended as a public spectacle being escorted out by security. I can picture Blake being that kind of guy.

Maybe old man Diaz can give Blake a job in his Cartel….

Not an insider, but close to a few of CS family members. And know the former Chairwoman of the board through family. Actually made a big presentation to her about the University investing in football and the + financial and academic benefits Clempsun (ACC peer) has reaped from said investment. I even had three slides about AD candidates one is now at TN another is now ACC commish. I also added, if the BOT insisted on keeping BJ to hire Zo to oversee FB as a GM. All this was in 2019 after the FIU & LA Tech fiascos. A lot of pain could have been avoided…

In terms of connecting the dots, I also read what the guys who are insiders write vigilantly and just to run it by the people I know. I don’t expect anything in the next week unless VT blows us out. There oddly seems to be some semblance of a plan:

1) Blake moves on to greener pastures… Miami hires an AD / incorporates Highsmith in some form or fashion. Having Zo in place before an official AD shows commitment to FB and entices Mario. Mario has a lot of leverage which is good for us fans including @Liberty City El (just teasing, hug fan of your posts and see Mario’s flaws like you do)

2) BOT, Zo or new AD fires Manny end of the season. Only way it happens before is if we get blown out next week.

3) Hire Mario, invest in FB like it’s a big boy school - top 15 level of commitment not UGA or Bama style.

I know Mario is flawed but CFB to me is about ELITE QB play and Jimmies and Joe’s moreso than elite scheming. Coming to Miami, Mario has an ELITE QB in TVD. He also has nice pieces at other positions (especially on O). We should win nine to ten games next year if we can keep the core pieces in place and supplement deficient areas through the portal. TAMU will be brutal and Clemson should be a challenge too.
So happy to be wrong about things not happening this week. Lol
