2026 Summer Commitment Timing + Crystal Balls

@Rey Rey Armweak Just curious, you have Freddie Wilson likely to commit to Miami but its only 247 CB is for GT. Same with Lafeyette as hes got 0.

Or is that just your guess they commit to Miami? Only picked them out since it was bolded.

I've moved into "whatever just win territory," so I'm probably not your target audience. The Cantwell recruitment told me that they value OT above all else. I don't know what other takeaway their was so I asked.
Im in the just win territory too. Mario used up all his slack to me after Cuse. Idc if Miami finishes with the 20th crooting class and spends everything on portal. Plenty of ways to bake a cake.

But the same people gloomy on here last week were the same ones ready to burn down the roof over the Cantwell “predictions”. That **** can change in one night, for better or worse.

At least in HS recruiting, for sure. This staff has shown they will pay a lot for a starting QB, but only via the portal.

Just close on Coop, Kolojay + hopefully a couple surprises and I'll live with that. We probably finish somewhere between 6th-9th if it plays out that way.
Unless those surprises are big time, I don’t think that gets us there. Also anything short of a top 5 class given our NIL while not a failure is disappointing.

I care more about us filling our key needs than whatever our final ranking is. Too many previous classes were imbalanced and that's why we still lack at DT and safety.

Nothing I haven’t already known. Lots of money is being dumped to make this **** work. If they strike out on someone the pivot with funds is quick. So these people saying “Miami missing out on everyone” is hilarious. Canes finishing with a top 5 class. I’ll let y’all puzzle it together day by day.
I agree with you. It will be Top 5 when it’s all said it done. Getting there won’t be pretty but Mario is going to get a Top 5 class come **** or high water.

I’m using On3 for predictions (I have no real/fake sources) and hadn’t updated the crystal balls in a couple weeks. Updated it now (Freddie Wilson and Zachery Turner no longer Miami lean + Nolan Wilson and Jennings committed elsewhere). Thanks for calling it out.

All good. When I see CB’s mentioned I automatically think 247

Top 10 or higer is a win..... you just have to constantly stack those type of classes. Last year was a No No!

FACTS. The fan panic is due to the CIS hype cycle. People would be more level headed if @DMoney hadn't hyped up the fan base talking about landing a handful of 5 stars and closing with a Top3 type class, but had instead talked about consistently being in the Top 10.

Having a top 10 high school recruiting class annually, topped off by quality transfers from the portal, gets you to the playoffs on a regular basis. That increases the desire for kids to play for Miami and reduces the suck tax we still have at certain positions, which gets us to the football elite once again.

Exactly. The main goal should be making the playoffs every year. Which is actually doable being that it's 12 teams now. Stacking a few top 10 classes can get you there. Honestly we shouldn't even be talking about finishing with a Top3-5 class before the season starts ANYWAY. Yes winning might not mean AS much as before with NIL but I bet my last dollar we go anything below 8 wins this year, we might be sniffin' outside a top 15 class.

  • July 10: Lamar Brown DT (LSU)
  • July 11: Devonte Anderson CB (Florida)
  • July 11: Samari Matthews CB (Texas)
  • July 12: Heze Kent TE (Florida)
  • July 12: Zachery Turner TE (SMU)
  • July 12: Tyriq Green S (Georgia)
  • July 12: Duyon Forkpa LB (Florida)
  • July 13: Blake Stewart S (Clemson)
  • July 14: Tamarian Watkins LB (S Carolina)
This feels like a pivotal week. Could see the downside scenario where we get none of these guys and it’s panic mode. Could also see the upside scenario where we get 2 of Brown, Turner, Green, Stewart and we’re talking about shooting for a top 5 class again.
