Looking over the roster I’m much more confident than I was last year.

QB - TE - DL - S seem to be positions of great strength

RB - I will miss Dallas. Wish we could have seen him in this offence. He was criminally underused last season. But I am intrigued by what the young guys will do.

WR - there is talent, but unproven. If Lashlee puts them in a position to use there strengths I believe we will see a huge improvement in their stats.

OL - So much more experience and depth compared to last season. Hopefully we get some blow outs to give Nelson, Rivers and Walker (if he’s eligible) some valuable experience.

LB - I will miss the leadership and steadiness of Shaq, but am excited to see some new (more athletic athletes this year).

CB - I still think that the guys we have are good not great. They had their ups and down last year, but more experience and the pass rush should help them.

K - I think we lost at least 3 games last year because of the **** show we had at K. Whether it was missing easy kicks or going for it on 4th instead of even trying it took points off the board and killed momentum.

This is who I have in the 2 deep right now:

QB - King - Perry/TVD
RB - Harris - Knighton
TE - Jordan - Mallory
WR 1 - Wiggins - Smith
WR 2 - Payton - Pope
Slot - Harley - Pope
LT - Williams - Nelson
LG - Clark - Traore
C - Gaynor - Clark
RG - Scaife - Reed
RT - Campbell - Herbert

DE - Rousseau - Phillips
DT - Ford - Miller
DT - Silvera - Holly
Edge - Roche - Harvey

MLB - McCloud - Joyner or Jennings
WLB - Brooks - Huff or Steed
Striker - Frierson - Smith *Carter

CB - Blades - Williams
SS - Hall - Carter
FS - Bolden - Williams
CB - Ivey - Couch
Nickel - Couch - Blades

KR - Chaney/Knighton
PR - Pope
P - Hedley
K - Borregales

Hoping the Kool-Aid is legit this season.

I like Joyner so much better at MLB than McCloud. McCloud was always 3rd when paired with Shaq and Pickney. Joyner is as big, faster and more athletic.

The freshman version of DJ Dallas would've been beast in this offense.

If Ivins was given accurate info, he was told Thursday it looks like Jarrid Williams will start at right tackle and John Campbell/Zion/Herbert at Left tackle.

He also said he was told the staff is looking at Jakai Clark starting at left guard.

Good write-up OP but I don't see Ivey starting due to lack of speed and stiffness.

Miller is more dominate force against the run than Silvera

I agree that Ivey May lose out. I think he will start there and I hope that they compete and the best player gets the nod. I don’t think anyone on a 6-7 team should have a spot.

I like Williams skills, but I worry a little about his tackling because of a few times he was dragged last year on ST.

I think Miller will get a lot of playing time, especially on early downs. Nests flashed last year at times, but needs to be consistent this year.

Nelson still starting at LT, huh? Not sure if he will, but I do believe he's gonna be good at some point before he finishes his college career.

Something y’all should should worry about is how your projected starting secondary all have had issues tackling last season. Also, Frierson Freelances way too much. Go watch the fiu, UF and La Tech game. Every he’s in he does his own thing.

QB1 - D'Eriq King
QB2 - N'Kosi Perry
QB3 - Tyler Van Dyke or Peyton Matocha
QB4 - Tate Martell

Redshirt: TVD (might play 4 & shirt, more than likely will only get a chance to play vs Wagner & 2nd half vs Temple or UAB).

RB1 - Cam'ron Harris
RB2 - Don Chaney Jr
RB3 - Jaylen Knighton
RB4 - Robert Burns

XWR - Mark Pope/ Michael Redding/ Keyshawn Smith
YWR - Mike Harley/ Xavier Restrepo/ Marshall Few
ZWR - Daquris Wiggins/ Jeremiah Payton/ Daz Worsham

Redshirt: Daz Worsham (maybe)

TE1 - Brevin Jordan
TE2 - Will Mallory
TE3 - Larry Hodges
TE4 - Dominic Mammarelli

Redshirt: Dominic Mammarelli

LT - John Campbell/ Zion Nelson/
LG - Jakai Clark/ Ousman Traore/ Jalen Rivers
C - Corey Gaynor/
RG - Delone Scaife/Cleveland Reed/ Za'lonte Hillery
RT - Jarrid Williams/ Adam ElGammal

Redshirts: Navaughn Donaldson, Issiah Walker, Jalen Rivers & Chris Washington. (Rivers might play as a backup rotational Guard, but if you're expecting him to start its not happening, unless others ahead of him are injured. He'll play 4 & shirt.)

SDE - Gregory Rousseau/ Jaelan Phillips/ Jason Blissett
DT - John Ford/ Jordan Miller/ Jalar Holley/
DT - Nesta Silvera/ Jared Harrison-Hunte/
WDE - Quincy Roche/ Jahfari Harvey/ Cameron Williams

Redshirts : Chantz Williams, Elijah Roberts & Quetin Williams (one of them may play their way into the rotation, but it's doubtful, barring injury they'll all play 4 & shirt.)

WLB - Sam Brooks/ Avery Huff/ Tirek Austin-Cave/ Corey Flagg Jr
MLB - Zach McCloud/ BJ Jennings/ Patrick Joyner

Redshirt: TAC & Flagg; although I will say given the lack of depth maybe they get a chance to play as backups in rotation, especially TAC, if healthy I think he can get valuable reps.

Striker - Gilbert Frierson/ Keontra Smith/ Keyshawn Washington

Redshirt: Washington

Field CB - Al Blades/ Christian Williams
NCB - Te'Cory Couch/ Marcus Clarke
Boundary CB - DJ Ivey/ Isaiah Dunson

Redshirt: None, can't afford it.

(And yes I want/hope Christian Williams beats Ivey for the CB2 spot, I just have no faith Diaz/Baker/Rumph will really bench Ivey until they feel they have no other choice, which means he's gonna have to get torched some more before they pull him lol)

FS - Gurvan Hall/ Avantae Williams/ Jalen Harrell
SS - Bubba Bolden/ Amari Carter/ Brian Balom

Redshirt: Harrell & Balom; I personally wouldn't shirt Harell, but his arrival might be a bit delayed with his academic situation.

Keyshawn Washington is also listed as a Safety, if they keep him at Safety he'll definitely be a SS, but no matter whether they play him at SS or Striker he's a Redshirt either way.

KR - Jaylen Knighton & Mark Pope
PR - Mark Pope or Mike Harley & Xavier Restrepo

Again they don’t play the same position. Miller will be Fords back up.

Again I asked in another thread and you never responded. So I'm assuming your rollin' with DE DT NT DE format and my problem with this it doesn't put your best 4 Dlineman on the field. Ford/Miller combo would be stout against the run

The DT's will rotate, Ford, Miller, Nesta, JHH & Holley will all play.

Plus, they like to line Rousseau up at 0 technique on certain 3rd down packages anyway so it ultimately doesn't really matter because where our DL's lineup at is just pre snap alignment, we use stunts & create mismatches all along the gaps to get one on ones with OL's.

Watching film of last year - our DT’s would move from 1T to 3T. I think Miller and Ford could line up together vs strong running teams. Nesta will play a lot as well. They will all get reps to stay fresh.

LCE - great write up. I hope that we don’t Red-shirt TAC. We need to get some of these guys on ST. We had too many walk-one playing on them last year. Although I will miss Jimmy Murphy!
