Now that Strong is gone, who is the biggest corch in college football? Muschamp? Butch Jones? I know that I am missing a few names...

Not one, not two but three Strong/Texas threads on a Canes site. I don't get it.
 
Think they jumped the gun....unless they have Herman signed and delivered already. Strong kinda got a raw deal, as that thing was a cluster**** when he got there....he cleaned it up okay....it's still a rebuilding job. They are the only fanbase who are as delusional with expectations as UGA and UF

Strong is a good recruiter, but a bad Gameday coach & isn't cutout for a program like Texas...

His first class (2014) he had the #16th ranked class in the nation, and landed prospects like QB/WR Jerrod Heard & 3-star RB D'Onta Foreman who's currently the #2 leading rusher in the nation.

His 2015 class was even better, ranked 10th nationally & #1 in the Big XII, with an elite LB class of Malik Jefferson, Anthony Wheeler & Cecil Cherry, along with a speedster at WR in John Burt & BTW's own Davante Davis.

His 2016 class was his best, ranked 7th nationally & again #1 in the Big XII, he signed 28 kids & had a very stacked class with guys like Devin Duvernay, Brandon Jones, Erick Folwer & Shane Buechele.

That texas team is absolutely loaded with talent, all they need is the right Coach & they'll probably win the Big XII next year.
The Boosters are willing to give Herman upwards of $6mill a year if they have to, they will not let him go anywhere else, bank on that.

Charlie Strong will probably get another HC gig, but I'm not sure if it would be at a big program... If Doeren got fired at NC St I wouldn't be surprised if Strong got that job or wound up back in the SEC after Mullen leaves Miss St.

im not sure Strong was ever that good. he cleaned house the year shannon was fired and all his success was built around that class. He def didnt fit at UT tho.

Look at the players he put in the league during his UF tenure, most Gaytors are busts in the NFL, but Strong's kids weren't that bad.

Same thing with Louisville, most of the Louisville players in the NFL are Strong's recruits & currently at Texas he has a few kids that will definitely play in the league.

He's not a good coach, but he's a good talent evaluator & a good recruiter.

im not saying hes bad, i think UT was a bad fit and he left L-ville just as those kids were leaving. i just think we cant say he is great or horrible. im not sure what he is yet

He didn't fit at Texas for the same reason Folden didn't fit at UM. He sucked. They don't want a HC who sucks.

What do you know.....cleaning it up in year 3 always consists of losing to a team like Kansas. He had it going in the right direction pal.
