Streaming Services

“Jail breaking” fire sticks is incredibly easy btw. Just type whatever app name you’ve been using with “firestick install” into google and aim sure there will be some instructions from like troypoint. But honestly I hate firesticks. If you’re having buffering issues, you don’t know if it’s cause your isp or it’s cause the firestick. I’d always just recommend an android box. Best is Nvidia shield. More expensive for sure, but well worth it imo. Onn is supposed to be okay though and way cheaper.
Shield running TiviMate and an IPTV service is a pretty sweet setup.

Best streaming options while international (Asia), without VPN. Any thoughts?
Unless your isp is just so slow a vpn would grind it to a halt, vpns are only like $2.5/month. If you’re already paying for a streaming service and just want to use it while doing some international travel, buying a vpn is going to be the best option probably. Now if you don’t already pay for a streaming service and just live internationally that’s different…

Yeah both are a buy it once and you’re good forever thing. Sure a lil more expensive ($150-200 for shield, $35 for tivimate for 5 devices for life, some iptv offer it free tho) but imo you’re saving so much with iptv it’s worth it for not having to deal with any bs. I literally just setup my nephew with a shield, tivimate, and Kodi. Though stremio is much easier and I probably won’t want to be tech support for Kodi lol, so will probably just tell him to switch to that sooner than later.

Only advantage I see with Hulu Live would be bundling Disney + & ESPN + & cutting out that extra cost if you have something else

I don't necessarily have just one! But, DirecTV, prime.... direct TV gives me access to acc, big 10, sec Networks + abc, nbc and CBS! So I'm covered.

I sign up for Hulu live for football season and cancel once it’s over. I like that you’re not tied in to a contract or anything. Cancel whenever you want. I think it’s like $80 for Hulu Live, Hulu and Disney+.

I stream other stuff through my fire stick during the off season but I like being able to flip through five different games on Saturdays.

No contract with YouTube either. Can cancel anytime.

I'm sure contracts are coming at some point. Just like when Prime started forcing ads on you and nickel and dimed you into paying another $3 for ad-free or whatever. I just deal with the ads.

The streaming universe is becoming a **** show.

YouTube tv continues to locate and lock me out despite using Nord VPN so I wanted to try a more optimal option. I’ll head to an expat bar, no biggie.

Thanks

Honestly YouTube TVs multi view is probably worth $5/month over the competition imo. So if Youtubetv is same cost as Hulu, it's better without question imo. Literally only argument for Hulu is if you're gonna bundle. But Hulu is probably the worst streaming service imo which is why it's always so cheap and has deals. And like ESPN+ is not worth it right now since it doesn't even give you the main ESPN channels imo. Disney is worth it if you watch that stuff or have kids. Most of the rest you can actually get cheap.

Like obviously prime gives you Amazon video, Xfinity gives you peacock, AT&T gives you HBO, T-Mobile gives you Netflix, think Hulu, and AppleTV (or any apple product comes with it), Walmart+ gives you Paramount+ (think this actually gives you CBS btw) and some credit cards offer Walmart+ free I think. think Verizon actually gives you the Hulu/ESPN/Disney bundle.

Btw for IPTV people, Tivimate offers multi view too (if you have multiple lines of course). Not sure if the free apps like smarters have that ability or not

Interesting..they get me too, but when I reset the VPN I'm always able to watch the whole game or race..even worked on the overseas flight..

Ah LiveTV specifically... yeah they all do GPS tracking. So if you have an android phone or basically any computer, the cheapest way to do that is to spoof your gps location (Idk if nord has that feature built in, I know surfshark does) either with a VPN or standalone app/service. Then just cast to your tv...

Honestly though if you have Youtubetv at home that family uses or whatever, and you're going international for just a short time, id just create free trials in that country. Most our games will be on ESPN/ABC which means you should get everything still I'd think since those arent location dependent broadcasts? Not really sure

I was going to reup with YTTV, but the ESPN app looks promising. Saw they will have multiview options that YTTV has as well.
I literally haven’t watched any tv in months, so not sure I need anything other than Miami and other college games.

YTTV have a reup special?

TECHNICALLY CHEAPEST PATH FOR ALL NFL+CFB:

- Buy the ESPN+Fox One bundle when it releases for $40/month. This gives you Every ESPN channel including ACC/SEC/B1G, Every Fox channel, And ABC live.

- Buy Paramount+ Premium for $10/month. If you have Walmart+ you can get this discounted. Or there will likely be black Friday deals for 1yr offers. This gives you access to CBS live.

- Buy Peacock Premium for $15/month. If you have Xfinity you can get this substantially discounted. Also black Friday deals for 1yr memberships. This gives you access to NBC live.

That covers every NFL+CFB game basically for max of $65/month. Meanwhile YouTube TV and Hulu cost $80/month.

@ddann think this is all correct

I haven’t actually used these services though. So up to yall to actually try them out….

The only issue I've ever had with YouTube TV was games would freeze up on me at times. I have a slow connection, but that doesn't happen with any other service.

YoutubeTV is the way to go as many have said. My only gripe about it and any other streaming service is the very obvious 15-20 second delay in the stream vs cable.

Interesting…

Thanks for putting this compilation together. Very helpful. Piecing this together might be the solution.

Anybody seeing any new free trial deals popping up for the major streaming services?
