Streaming Services

Has anyone tried DirecTv Stream with the choice package? $71/month, includes CBS, ABC, ESPN, TNT, ACCDN, SECN, BIG10N, BIG12N, etc... and includes all the local stuff which is nice for hockey season for those who are panthers fans (i dont think Youtube TV does).

I changed to that as my Satellite DirecTV package to get cost way down since those channels are basically all I watch now

How does it compare to your Satellite? Currently have satellite DirecTV where I am at but would like to try and do something that is streaming instead.

Sorry. Still have Satellite with this package.

Honestly, cost of Hulu Live & YouTube TV not much higher and get most other channels if looking to go streaming.

We went to YouTube about a month ago. It has all the local alphabet channels, all ESPN, ACCN, and many others for $82.99 a month plus tax. So far, we’re pleased with it.

My Dish contract ends in three weeks.

YouTube TV the way to go?
YouTube TV most definitely. The interface is clean and simple. You can customize your channels to where you want them. Local, sports, news, entertainment and all on the basic package. You can add NFL package, NBA package at an extra cost. You can stream up to 3 screens at once. Multiview for sports and they are adding other channels.

YoutubeTV is the best of the main ones to choose from if you're actually trying to pay and I don't think it's particularly close. You'll get access to watch ESPN. And Multiview is great now that you can pick your own game groupings.

IPTV with a vpn (though probably not even needed tbh, most are https now anyways). I mean "illegal"... but so is speeding 5mph over the limit. One of those things would cost you a couple hundred bucks, and one saves you a couple hundred bucks while the only actual downside is choosing a **** provider that maybe scams you or just has constantly buffering service... IPTV is like $5-$15/month for PPV and every channel you could imagine, and most have VOD included.

Theres also countless free streaming websites that you could use and just cast to the tv. If you wanna get real grimy you could just Use TempEmail to create throwaway Emails and Privacy.com to create virtual cards with a $3 Limit (or whatever you choose. But low enough to do the verification charge sites usually try to do for subscritpions), and just keep signing up for Free week/month long trials and cancelling before you are charged lol.
IPTV been a game changer, 200 for the year and you get 17000 channels/movies/series all around the world including all the live sports. Knew a guy who jailbroke the firestick to get all the apps and stuff on it and then pay the yearly fee through the IPTV provider. I’d say the only downside is that it’s about 2-3 minutes behind live sports so if game is close put on DND so you don’t get spoiled lol

Multiview is SUPPOSEDLY also going to be moving to letting you pick any 4 channels instead of the limited options they’ve had in the past. I personally have a projector set up with a 4 way split and 4 roku’s to watch any games I want, but that would be a massive improvement on their end.

I had Hulu live for a couple years. The picture on live games was constantly fuzzy and bad. I have 1G internet so I’m not sure why. I switched to YouTube TV and haven’t had any issues since. If someone is looking at those 2, I recommend YouTube.

The IPTV service is a huge blessing for me because it helps me to watch all the Canes games. I am paying $20 USD for three connections per month.

Just was always a hassle man. Nothing worse than being excited for the Canes and then you deal with crappy links or buffering. Especially when it would drop off during the game. YouTube tv ain’t cheap but it’s got ACCN, SEC, Big10, ESPN1/2/U. All the channels I want for CFB. I’m just at the point where I’ll bite the bullet and pay the price to enjoy it. Plus I’ve never have buffering problems on YouTube tv

Makes sense. I get NFL Sunday Ticket for that reason as well.

I’ve been on it since it basically launched. It’s fine. There can be a 30-60 second time delay. Can’t think of anything extra ive had to do see every football game in many many years.

This is the answer, you get the ESPN's, ACC, SEC & Big 10 network, plus the locals, I pay around $85 as well.

Best streaming options while international (Asia), without VPN. Any thoughts?

“Jail breaking” fire sticks is incredibly easy btw. Just type whatever app name you’ve been using with “firestick install” into google and aim sure there will be some instructions from like troypoint. But honestly I hate firesticks. If you’re having buffering issues, you don’t know if it’s cause your isp or it’s cause the firestick. I’d always just recommend an android box (and anything you can do to fire stick you can do to android and more) Best is Nvidia shield. More expensive for sure, but well worth it imo. Onn is supposed to be okay though and way cheaper.
