Story 11-5-18 on Palm Beach Post: Comparing Pressure on CMR & Jon to Bobby & Jeff Bowden

This article is comical. Miami fans do not care about what Bowden has to say about the situation at UM. Of course, this senile Nole is going to say Richt is going to get things turned around. Richt is more of a Nole than he is a Cane. Mark, Jon, TB, and Searels can all get taken by a band of Somalian pirates for all I care. I just want those idiots out of Coral Gables.

Why is Thomas Brown getting any mention? He's the OC in name, only. Richt is the OC.

Thomas Brown's job is to recruit at a high level, and he does that.

Mark and Jon Richt are responsible the QB spot ... Identifying and developing QB talent. There's, obviously, a deficiency there.

How have Brown recruited at a high level? Serious question. No doubt, he shouldn't be mentioned in this article as OC b/c it's a b.s title, but I'm interested to see the fluff that he's recruited at a high level.

TB needs to leave Coral Gables for being incompetent. He brings nothing to the table in terms of Xs and Os. His recruiting is going to go to s-hit now that the honeymoon is over. Crowley just flipped to OSU yesterday. TB is also someone who has constantly blamed players and called them cancers. He constantly talks about players needing to live up to the standard at UM while he doesn't live up to it himself. He can kick rocks.

Why should we? Fire his a$$%

We should not be rewarding ineptitude...

I agree. But, I don’t see Mark Richt firing his own son. This is Bowden and Bowden Jr all over again. We’re either going to fire CMR (I wish...) or make concessions.

Jon Richt has no reason to be on this staff. There are major caps on salary for non coaches. for example quality control guys at bama make like 35k.

Richt isnt going to do that to his son.

Because Brown is not qualified either to be an OC or Co Oc. Do you think if/when Richt has to bring in a New OC they are going to be okay with Brown sharing the Title and media time, considering it will be the new OC's system. No to mention were going to have the pay the new OC as much or more than Thomas Brown.

Consider Thomas Brown's coaching tree of RB coach 1 year at Chattanooga, Marshall, Wisconsin, UGA, and 3 yrs at Miami. All as only RB Coach, Richt brought him to Miami because Coach Brown is a good Media mouth piece and a good RB coach. As for OC come on now, we can see the results on the field, he is Coach Richt's ultimate yes man.

So YES Coach brown needs to drop the OC title an become RB/running game coordinator or he and Jon Richt needs to be demoted to OQA. Staying on staff gives them a pay check, but we need actual offensive minds that can utilize UM's talents.

Also Miami needs to get serious about our Analyst core, the people on the offensive side are lacking big time, hence a major reason we lack self scouting ability. Other schools bring in former college head coaches and coordinators.

Go Canes

Exactly.

Read this article about Saban, his 2018 staff and the coaches that have moved on from his teams.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/30/sports/nick-saban-alabama.html

I’ve mentioned it in other threads, Saban is a god **** ninja that trains to be the best all of the time. You think Saban would try to put one of his kids as the QB coach????

Giver him a job in recruiting department.

Hire a real innovative OC and QB coach who will call plays.

Admittedly, I don't know enough about recruiting to refute your posts. I was under the impression Brown was a recruiting stud. But if not, then no real reason to keep him.

That noted ... My OP was more about Brown not being the actual OC or play-caller. So, firing him doesn't really change anything with the offense.

I was under the impression he was a recruiting guru as well, until I started seeing how often he's whiffed on prospects. Lingard, I guess I can give him that W. Not sure all behind the scenes on that recruitment though. But you're right, firing him does absolutely nothing. He's actually not the problem, although I did not like him throwing players under the bus and calling them cancers if they are not leading or following.

Brown is stealing north of $600k a year from Miami. In his 1 yr at UGA he made $275k, so he comes to UM for double his previous salary. Coach Richt paid brown $60k to come to UGA from Wisconsin and yet hoses Miami by paying Brown more than 5 times that previous years pay increase to come Miami.

And some maroons on this site whine about us not having money....

... yes, when we pay atrocious amounts to mediocre yes-men, we get the results we have..

Don't tell me you can't get a better position coach for 600K +...

These guys are making out like bandits on our dime..

Fire Richt and all his band of thieves..

LOL at the PBPost dragging Booby out of the woodwork via phone today to discuss the ramifications of having your son on your staff. Probably not what Richt wanted to hear today. No-one cares about having a Nole chime in but the article is certainly pertinent as to what's going on at UM.
