The Blue Print to stop, or at least slow down Dalvin Cook is shown in these games:

Boston College 2015

Houston 2015

Louisville 2016

Keys:

Maintaining gap integrity - if 1 guy gets too far upfield the off-tackle crease is too big
Hitting him in the backfield
Bringing pressure late
When you have a chance to hit him hard - do it. You can see it takes some of the fight out of him
The blitz/showing will also keep him in the backfield looking to help in protection and limit him as a receiver
Tackling in space - on the few occasions in these games he got outside the secondary did a good job of limiting gains

I think our defensive system will allow our D to slow him down and frustrate their offense
We need to watch out for misdirection (Jet-sweeps to Kermit), Sweeps and the option play that killed us last year

The blue print to stopping him is just like every other back, hit em in the mouth...over and over again.

It seems they've been giving him a ton of work between his carries and receptions. Keep hitting him and tire him out. Jimbo is going to try to ride ride him as long as he can.

Wrap up. And drive for 5. Gotta have sound tackling against cook

Just put in someone like Jahair Jones on defense and tell him to break his leg the first play and get ejected and you win

We penetrate into backfields and a very high rate, so stopping him before he gets started will probably be high on our list. I'm more worried about cut backs from over pursuit and getting screened. If they hit a set up screen, it might be a house call.

Dude has been rubbing and flexing that shoulder a lot this year. I think a hit or two from JRock or Pinckney could do wonders for his recovery.

Affect the shoulder. Hit him in that shoulder until he decides to switch it off. Twist that **** as you gang tackle him. Grind him. Affect the shoulder.

I wanna see us tackle him in the back field. We never did that under fat Golden. He may break a few but get him down on the ground. And make a pile on him.

You are right about the Kermit jet sweeps. Fsu likes to use cook as a decoy on early drives.

Gang tackle, get to him early, gotta put pressure on qb. Lou did a great job just follow their lead.
