Stop the Gattis Sucks Already

This offense moved the ball all night. The players just didn’t execute. Gattis didn’t drop the balls or make the mistakes. I like this offense. We will win big with it.

I remember when some of you were calling for Lashlee’s head when he was here, but he is god now that he is out. I also remember that we had a lot of red zone problems with Lashlee and a terrible run game. We will be fine guys. Chill.
This reminds me a lot of golden defending his defense. “We’re trending up”

Defense is executing better too.

Never mind the fact that we no longer run an undisciplined, over0-pursuing, ****-show defensive scheme.
agreed. Steele has done a fantastic job and did one last night. only reason we were in the game.

also, I dont ever wanna see 2 on returns again. he had the jump punt catch bull**** last week and w.e. the **** he was trying last night on a bouncing ball w dudes around him. let the ******* ball roll 30 yards for all I care. it gave them an easy short field when they couldn't score. they only had one drive where they took us down the length of the field.

also, imposible that we are somehow worse than jimbo on offense in terms of the stat that. matters - scoring.

Reminds me of Patrick Nix defending his offense, Golden as you said, Rick defending his 5 play playbook, Manny, etc.

But this year, I am sure is different
if Mario wasn't a beloved alum, the board would crush him for his OC hiring. Mario has done a lot of good imo, but this seems to be a very obvious mistake at OC. ill pound that take all season until a change is made. I wouldn't be shocked to see a mutual parting. all the Michigan stuff from gattis seems to b true. he talks about running fast and speed, but doesn't employ any of it in his play calling and scheme. Harbaugh forced a co-oc on him and got involved to get the only decent offense he put up there.

Makes me wonder what the game plan was, this was the scheme we were hiding the first 2 games?

Very little halftime adjustments except for the QB run plays . WTH were those.

Gattis doesn't suck.

Gattis needs to improve on making his system fit his players though. We need more space to make the game easier for QB and WRs.

His route concepts are very NFL like. And we dont have NFL personnel across the board like that yet.
So we just need NFL players to succeed.

Sounds like a great system for college

And they (Michigan)looked better yesterday...I know...another CIS coincidence..

Him being an alum and then just in general our fanbase gets man-crushes on every new HC and staff.

I mean ****, 90% of these clowns were parroting "Al Golden just gets it" all the way until Clemson ended him. It's weird af.

It's also telling that our fans hold every other team and program to a higher standard than ours; most of this board would be clowning the **** out of Billy Napier and his OC if they played last night's game. But with us, it's always our players until year 4-5 when the lightbulb comes on for the fanbase.

This

Gattis doesn’t suck but his route concepts and not helping. His run concepts were real good and he made a few good calls that were not executed well but he has too many slow developing plays that just aren’t working when he could be tailoring the offense to the personnel we have.

When your QB takes his drops and can’t throw the ball in rhythm, the route concepts are not aligned and working. While it’s nice to give your QB 4 seconds to throw you can’t expect that and build an offense with routes needing that much time to execute.

The seams were open. Screens were open if we could block it. We didn’t challenge the corners enough in that cover-2 with high/low concepts. We let those safeties sit comfortably all night and only took the flats, nothing with deep posts or corners.

TVD staring down receivers, throwing ducks, and taking off out of clean pockets on 3rd and 25 aren’t on the coordinator. It’s the QB not being as good as we thought.
He’s not as good as many thought, lots to work on. But again, good coaches tweak calls to take advantage of their players strengths and minimize their weaknesses. We see a major disconnect right now with this pass game. The run game? That looks good.

glad you started this thread. wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. gattis called a pretty good game and we had numerous opportunities to score. by the way roman has a post out there showing two shoe lace tackles that stopped two TD;s. we were really pretty close to easily winning this game.

I agree except for the redzone. Very conservative play calling in the redzone when we were down 11. Three running plays and them a field goal. One of the plays was a designed TVD run. No.

Put skinner, Young, and Ladson in the game and throw to tall WRs in the endzone.

A very uncreative redzone passing game.
Very conservative in the redzone for sure. But from what I saw from the receivers I’d be scared expecting them to fight for contested balls too.

If Tyrique doesn't muff that punt we win the game and this overreaction posts would be "Gattis called a good game against a great defense" If you told me last year that C would be the WR we have to have on the field I would've said we're Fd.

For the "execution bros" :

The improvement that we have seen with our OL. Do you admit that is because our execution is better, or because we finally have competent OL coaches?

Great coaching can improve a room drastically as we've seen w/ the OLine. Needs to happen w/ the passing game. Not holding my breath based on what we've seen but am going to try my best to stay optimistic it will.
