Stop the Gattis Sucks Already

Remember when we said we needed those kinds of players defensively to execute a certain DC's game plan?

How did that work out for us?

When your playbook needs to out talent teams to win, there's a problem with the playbook. There's a reason great offenses churn out yards every game. They keep defense on their heels by exploiting vulnerabilities in the defense.
Yup, growing pains will be had. @Liberty City El warned us about this.

Gattis doesn't suck.

Gattis needs to improve on making his system fit his players though. We need more space to make the game easier for QB and WRs.

His route concepts are very NFL like. And we dont have NFL personnel across the board like that yet.
He’s clearly NFL bound at some point. He’s not going to alter his system significantly to fit his players.

Hey coach, congrats on all the yards. Just an fyi, the object of the offense is to score pints. You managed to score ZERO on a defense that was depleted, to say the least. What a joke.

His offense did accomplish what you mention. Many, many pints were had last night while having to watch it. Probably into today as well.

So crazy to me how so many people are split on if he’s good or sucks. I think he did more than enough. I think our WRs suck. I think TVD was a much bigger problem than Gattis.
Only a friggin Moron couldn't see that TVD was uncomfortable. This is reminiscent of Coker pushing for Berlin under center, when in all actuality he should have stayed in the Shot gun. This Gattis clown is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Our red zone offense (if we have one) is once again Horrific.

Exactly! This best OCs don't force a system when they don't have the players for it. He needs to work with everyone to make a system that fits the personnel he has.

Hope it's sooner rather than later then.

I hate coordinators like this.

I hated the bull**** QB running plays and rolling out of clean pockets.

I hated the long *** developing routes for the wide receivers which ran them into the heart of their defense.

Everything was available underneath against a depleted secondary. We had three true freshman out there at times for them and they were playing 10 yards off the ball. Pressure the edges and make their safeties come up and keep hitting them with the ground game. We did nothing to pull them out of that alignment.

We literally play called our plays directly into their hands. Drops didn't help. TVD"s slow thinking, hesitation, inaccuracy, or whatever you want to call it didn't help either. A friend of mine said during the game, you guys need a new QB. In this system he's right, he's not the same person at all.

So Gattis, keep doing you and praise to whoever hires you away.

Combine all of that with the ***** *** settling for 3 decisions, we deserve to lose this game. You might not make a TD, but at least ******* try. That's an indictment on the entire staff. I'd rather see you try and lose than not try at all. Mario, you talk a good game, about imposing your will, brother, you forgot your own words and went with the layup. Soft as ****.

LOL at the execution bros. These are the same people who were wearing orange ties to games in 2014.
the same people that defended enos until it was too obvious at that point. you coach to your players strength and hide their weaknesses. they're getting a paid a lot of money to win game not keep games close. this isnt a cheap staff nor is it one where we got who we got bc of a lack of funding. nah, this is a big boy staff and yes we can kill them when we see its not right. Steele did a fantastic job imo on D. props to Ivey btw.

TVD staring down receivers, throwing ducks, and taking off out of clean pockets on 3rd and 25 aren’t on the coordinator. It’s the QB not being as good as we thought.

Some of you guys forget so quickly. I guess out of sight is out of mind. You remember one big knock on Lashlee was that he disappears in big games. With him we were always on second and long and lots of punting. I guess you love that. I don’t. This loss is squarely on the shoulders of the players. Not Gattis.
Na the 3 and outs and inside zones left everyone's memory bank the minute he went to SMU. All anyone remembers is the splits and spread concept. If I see one more idiot try to tell me how great our scheme was imma get banned.

This offense moved the ball all night. The players just didn’t execute. Gattis didn’t drop the balls or make the mistakes. I like this offense. We will win big with it.

I remember when some of you were calling for Lashlee’s head when he was here, but he is god now that he is out. I also remember that we had a lot of red zone problems with Lashlee and a terrible run game. We will be fine guys. Chill.
We moved the ball until we shot ourselves in the foot like we always do. Undisciplined teams shouldnt rely on an offense that requires 12 play drives to be successful. Wait til people realize we have no downfield passing game…

My opinion on TVD is the following:

When you space players out, you can basically read the defense and know where you're going with the ball pre-snap. Then he would let it rip with confidence.

In an offense where everything is bunch formation and slow developing. You have to sit back and make multiple reads in a defense that is not spread out so its hard to read. So even when TVD was deciding to throw, it wasn't accurate. He wasnt sure of the tight windows and this throwing with no confidence. The guy could barely throw a spiral.

He didn't play good, but man Gattis didn't help him at all.

atm will gladly play that same game 100x. they may have gotten outgained but their scoring D allowed 9 points. even if you add in the field goals that we missed/blocked, its 15 points. still less than 17. you will never win **** playing this way.

Yep, exactly.

"Execution" has been our issue going all the way back to Randy Shannon. "Execution" was our problem when Dorito was giving up 500 yards on the regular. "Execution" was the problem when Rick was trotting out an equally-bad offensive scheme. "Execution" was the issue when we couldn't score with Enos. "Execution" was the problem when Manny Diaz couldn't stop any team with a pulse.

cribby has said this to us all camp and all season. the OC isnt helping anyone involved in the passing game. we run very well. we dont pass for ****. what happens is that in a sport that is based on passing the ball, you will not score.

Nothing wrong with this offense. TVD has to learn to look off defenders with his eyes. Receivers need to get open. Y’all folks want this gimmick *** 400+ passing yards games offense. Guess what that ain’t Mario or Gattis. Lashlee system was trash until Rambo and Harley stepped up. This is a NFL ready system if TVD or the receivers can’t get it down what does that say about them. Y’all clamoring for spread better hang it for the next 10 years.
