Stop Hiring "Miami Guys" and stop trying to Emulate Georgia

Things like time mismanagement and game day decisions are glaring cause we’re in a bunch of close games and had an offense that struggled to get a first down most weeks. You cite lanning but who left that roster that competitive. Every post from anti Mario people seems to know how the story ends. Aside from working at Miami how do Mario manny and Randy have anything in common?
Big Manny has already used 1 TO against Miami (OH).

Duke went 9-4 and didn't play a ranked team last seasons.

The Blue Devils as a program also previously did 14 seasons under David Cutcliffe—who showed up in Durham in 2008 and built a solid little roster of smart, heady, overachievers—before he hit a ceiling and started to backslide.

Conversely, Miami is now on its fifth head coach over that same span—Shannon in his second season when Cutcliffe started coaching at Duke.

All your point proves is that Miami's 2022 roster was loaded with a bunch of inflated-ego, underachieving divas last season—a bunch of betas and quitters from the Manny Diaz era—which caused the housecleaning after the 5-7 season.

Riley Leonard to Duke in 2022 was like Drake Maye to North Carolina in 2021; a sharp kid with that it factor—while Miami saw Tyler Van Dyke completely backslide in 2022, as well as getting injured and missing half the season—which also played a massive role in a brutally bad campaign.

Cristobal's efforts to rehab Diaz's clown show roster, versus Eklo getting through to a team of overachievers—with an alpha dog, leader of a quarterback—put Duke in a better position in 2022 than Miami was in.

Let's see where things go year two and three of both program's rebuilding efforts—but Duke's "instant success" under Elko was absolutely rooted in him having harder working, higher IQ overachievers and not dealing with the broken culture, rotting cancer of a roster Beta Manny handed over to Mario.
I’ll add to this, no one else noticed that Cutcliffe built his teams to be their best every 3, 4 5 years? Cause they were older! Let Elko lose upperclassmen he won’t look so great. He did out coach us though

Not true at all, this entire school has been run like FTX since Shalala took over. Its been horribly mismanaged at every step and the coaching hires reflect that.

Think about this, we passed on Leach, Mullen, and Kiffin in the past 10 years alone. we’ve been running Archaic offenses since Coker and Lashlee was the 1st true spread guy we ever had.

Shannon had the #1 class in the country, Golden top 10 class, Richt #8 class, Diaz #11 class, and Mario had the #7 class so obviously kids want to come here
Please tell me what Leach, Mullen, or Kiffin has done for you to think they'd do anything?

I’ll gladly admit I was wrong, you can bet on that. All I care about is Miami winning and winning Championships. I’m just tired of this obsession that only “Miami” guys are qualified for this job and also incredibly lazy coaching searches (Paying Temple 4 Million for Diaz especially)

I get other schools hire former alumni but Kirby Smart was a Top DC for over a decade for Bama and could’ve got any job in the country, Harbaugh took Stanford too National Levels and went too a Super Bowl and there’s other examples of coaches that the nepotism tag definitely applies too.

My problem is Mario has shown GLARING deficiencies as a Gameday Coach as evident by the constant time Mismanagement, wasted timeouts, and overall lack of feel on gameday. The 2 games against Utah in 2021 were a very big red flag and you can’t just ignore the beat downs by MTSU, FSU, Duke, Clemson, and Pitt…..in One Season. We weren’t even competitive against Middle ******* Tennessee State

Is he a good recruiter? Yes but Lanning hasn’t skipped a beat either in that department and he’s arguably been as good or better of a gameday coach. Mark Richt had the #8 class just 5 years ago. All I know is the dude is getting paid 80 million dollars and so far we’ve gotten Al Golden results
No part of this has been alfraud golden results. I'm not even gonna argue his game day coaching as I agree it leaves room for improvement. My issue is the fans who choose to act like he just stepped into a great situation and everything that happened was just all on him. Give the man time to work and than choose what you're gonna say from than on our. But all this constant doom and gloom because last season was an absolute Greek tragedy of epic proportions so the obvious conclusion to draw is he's not the man for the job so you should just start flying banners now is foolish. By the way don't put Mandy diaz anywhere near as a Miami guy... Thanks & if you're mentioning Richt because you think that was another horrible hire I'll simply leave it at I REALLY disagree. Happy 4th

Because Miami had a putrid OL.
So he gets the pass because our oline was putrid & that's that. We don't apply that to anyone else? Yall don't give Richt any of that. It's just his offense was blahh & he's a nepotist (even though his son didn't have much to do at all with anything that was going on beyond recruiting )

Brook...

Check my porsts since I joined...

OL recruiting, development, and retention has been awful for 15+ years.

Miami has simply failed on 3rd and 1-2-3 on a horrificly consistent basis. That single metric has cost Miami countless games and wasted seasons.

I've given kudos to Big Manny for making OL the priority unit on O. Miami starts pounding and converting 3rd and 1-2-3 on a consistent basis and we fuccin.

Everything happens because of the big meat upfront.

Oh, I completely agree, however if he was the "out schemer" he's been labeled on this thread, he'd be able to compensate for said putrid line.
I just respectfully disagree on "our scheming". Yes there are marginal "wins" for sure, but Miami's athletes have just failed on the field over and over.

Part lack of development + bigger part just not as good as man across from them.

Mullen and kiffin have better resumes than mario lol they just weren’t in the pac 12
Someone tell this clown who coached USC IN THE PAC 12 and never won a championship. Please I don’t want to be the one tell him.

PIN THIS COMMENT:

All you Mario Cristobal haters will eat your words in a couple of years when he’s winning. Y’all really act like Mario came into a great *** situation.

Last season the team underperformed, even by its own very flawed standards, BUT come on, we've been on the decline to straight-up *** for 20 years. He doesn't get a pass but he sure as **** gets a few recruiting cycles, and I don't even like the guy as a head coach. He's an OL/AHC type, IMO, but it's too early to say right or wrong on anything.

Spot on my man! I've been preaching this sh*t since they hired Clappy. I liked the Mario hire because he recruits like a maniac. He's one of the few coaches who actually enjoys doing it.

That being said I wish he loosens the reigns on the field and allows his assistants to coach and call the plays.
