The unemployment rate hasnt risen and we havent gone into a recession because of massive government deficit spending, so he believes that the drop in inflation is temporary and it will go back up.

If you are a bull, you say he is a perma bear. If you are a bear, and see that oil is going back up (and we havent refilled the NPR), as is housing, food hasnt gone down, etc etc. then he is right

Realistically, the headline rate has gone down substantially, but the core has not, and may not.
 
ironically, government spends while inflation is high. The FED raises rates causing 1T plus of additional deficits per year due to interest rates on the debt.
