at qb? yes. Still stand by being undefeated if he plays qb vs fl and unc
No way he holds the ball and takes 5 of the 10 sacks JW did because of holding the ball. The other 5 sacks he scrambles for 10 plus yards. JW doesn't throw interceptions but he also doesn't take any chances and looks bored.

Did you really just say we're undefeated if Tate Martell was our QB? LOL!!!!! Jesus christ.
 
Perhaps some wildcat, but he has no experience being a slot receiver, so I don’t want to see him getting burn over Pope, Wiggins and company this year, unless it’s garbage time.
 
Does not make any sense . When you have a guy like this you have to put him on the field. (I was hard on him as a QB in beginning of the season) . I prefer Tate in the wildcat more so than Mr. Dallas although #13 has a pretty decent success rate for making a big play out of this formation. I still would have Tate back there as well because he can do so many things out of this formation . Mix Up a little bit as long it's in the flow of the game .

I would display a set that consists of...

1. Wild Cat formation .... RPO Style.
2. Wing T /Wishbone -Pass Option - With Cam, Dj in the back , Flex a TE-Mallory Out He can Crashed Block or Single Coverage Fade if it's MAN 2 MAN. (Short Yardage situations/ Goal Line) Str8 Butter!!!
3. Triple Option
4. A-11 Package - Since our Oline can't black why not go all out and spread these suckers out! Be innovative and it may cause nightmares for other teams! We have speedsters.
5.) I would have an option where we would have JW and Tate in the game at onetime. Break the huddle and Split JW out as a decoy and have Tate at Qb for a Spread base attack. ( Pittsburgh Steelers did this with Randle El back in the day and it caused havoc on some defense to adjust in the game )

Goodness -just thinking about it irks me, So many packages that Coach Enos can display.

We have no creativity, even when we think we are being slick. How many times over the past 10 years have we lined up in the wildcat with someone who has played quarterback (Crawford, Dallas, Tate, etc.) just to have them run it in to the line every. ****. time? If we don't come out of a bye week with a wrinkle that involves Tate throwing the ball on a gadget play then we are even dumber than I thought (which is a pretty high bar to clear).

Couldn't disagree more. I have zero interest in seeing us deploy tate throwing from gadget plays on Saturday. We are a much better team than VT. Period. We should go out and ******* execute for once and roll these fools. Absolutely zero reason we need to use risky sh-t like tate throwing from the wildcat on Saturday, IMO.

Let the best players play. If he can all around be a better WR than the others, he should play. Its everything.

Improvising when a play breaks down

Let the best dudes play and synchronize.

Here's the thing though: we never execute ****. I want us to beat the **** out of them like we are Alabama but we just aren't. If you have a tool at your disposal, use it.

Fair enough, I respect your opinion, I just disagree. Me personally, I don't think the solution is to deploy gimmicks. The solution is to figure out how to properly execute our offense. The real offense, not a backup QB in the slot or throwing off trick plays.
