Yeah he quit. Translation: Haden put the squeeze on him. Told him they would fire him for cause for the drunken episode a few weeks ago and not pay him a buyout, so they negotiated a departure. I'm sure he'll claim some health issue and that he needs to seek "treatment".

Ok so let's say you have a great HC available in an offseason. Two schools need a new coach.

One school is willing to do whatever it takes to get that coach. The other school is willing to take whoever is left over.

USC head coach Steve Sarkisian will take a leave of absence to seek treatment for an undisclosed condition, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

Trojans offensive coordinator Clay Helton will serve as the team's interim head coach. Helton previously served as the Trojans interim head coach for the 2013 Las Vegas Bowl after previous interim head coach, Ed Orgeron, quit.
