Every season I root for Alabama to lose twice, so they are out. It hadn't worked for a long time until this season.

Even if they lose twice I'm not kidding myself that they aren't among the 4 best teams and would he hellish to oust in the playoffs.

If I were being graded toward a job and asked to name the 4 best teams, Alabama would definitely be one of them. But given the current and proper criteria they would be excluded.

In fact, this is the reason college football should never expand beyond 4 teams. Given 8 teams some teams would be in automatically. There simply isn't any method to defeat them 3 times during the regular season.

But it won't be. Ohio State is safe unless they lose this thing 42-0.

Seeding would change but I can't see Ohio State being out. That's why teams like Oregon and Wisconsin couldn't afford to lose that second game. Oklahoma narrowly avoided a second defeat a few times, so they are safe.

No one thought Villanova would beat Georgetown or NC State would beat phi slamma jamma either.

Bama lost 2 games and didn't make their conference championship game. Don't deserve it.

LSU
Clemson
Oklahoma
Ohio State

It's impossible to argue that a 2 loss Alabama deserves to be in more than these 4.

I think next year is Saban's last regardless of outcome.

They already lost their “playoff” game to LSU. I don’t like putting teams in that have already lost to another team in it that won’t play for their conference title as well.

The conference titles need to have a meaning in this whole deal. If you win your conference and have the resume you need you deserve to be in.

Say Texas went 11-1 with their early loss to LSU and ended up winning the big 12. I would be ok with them getting in because it was early in the year. They might deserve another chance.

A team that ended their season with a loss doesn’t deserve to be in the playoff
Why not? One loss is one loss. It carries no less weight early or late in the season.

He is right about them beating utah or baylor, but you can not let in a team with 2 losses.
everyone outside of the southeast would lose there mind if a 2 loss bama team made it over a 1 loss big 12 team making it in with there starting qb injured.

In my mind, he is the most annoying television personality to ever be on my screen. I still can't believe that he has an audience that still keeps him on any set.
