In his power rankings. This I think is the highest preseason ranking yet. No doubt having TVD is a big reason but he notes that Mario taking a high flying Oregon team and refining them into a more power oriented team is a big reason he likes Miami. The kind of physicality and a proven QB could make the The Texas A&M game a much closer affair than forecasters expect.

The way Mario is recruiting, and with the coaching staff we have, and facilities we’re building and investing in etc… I have zero doubt Miami will be a playoff team year in and year out soon.

THIS YEAR though, we’re still building. Yes we have a great QB but with the CURRENT roster mostly recruited by Manny, we got holes and gaps. The current OL is a mere shadow of what it WILL be in a few years. The LB’s. The DL. Cornerback. Our receivers are a question mark.

I expect big things from the Canes in the future, but I’m not putting any expectations on Mario this year. He can go 8-4 and I won’t be mad. I see what he’s building and this year, if we happen to do well, is a bonus not an expectation

I think we’re closer to #25 than we are to #10. I hope Steele is right but a lot of question marks need to be answered by big jumps from guys who have been here or transfers coming in and balling (Messidor, Agude, Johnson, Lichtenstein, Ladson, Sagapolu, and Porter)

This should be EVERY Cane fans expectation. I agree 100%
 
We have enough talent to be respectful in 2022. I don’t think we lose more than three games this year. This is not a rebuilding year for UM, we need tweaks and we need to stay injury free as best as possible. Now with a little luck and a little focus, I don’t think we lose more than two games this year.
