Steele and Manny

The real question is whether the program would be in better hands this year and moving forward with Manny or Mario.
Considering that Lashlee was leaving, I predict that Manny would have been a much, much bigger disaster this year than Mario has been (small disaster), and the recruiting would never have matched what Mario will bring in, even if Manny had been given the same facilities upgrade, new AD and NIL budget.
totally agree and was having this same conversation the other day with a buddy of mine. Lashlee was gone already and no way Manny would have hired somebody comparable. So basically we would have same result right now, without the top recruits coming in. I don't want to even think about where the program would be then.

I hope they Hire Chadwell so he doesn't go to GT. He can recruit all the leftovers in GA and score points with their scheme.

Best way to see this, is that Manny, in the rear view mirror, is a known quantity. Mario is still the cake in the oven. All we know is the ingredients that went into the cake. The aroma is so good, we keep checking it with a toothpick to see if it’s done. Nothing but disappointment with that approach, and making us turn on each other.

The cake has to bake before the frosting goes on....Mario is baking then we can cut a slice...

Several???
Yep, just based on how teams have performed this year along, experience and making a "splash" hire, I'd think all of the names below would be ahead of Gattis. I think he may have lost his shine with our on-field performances.

Jamey Chadwell, Coastal Carolina coach
Liam Coen, Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator
Alex Golesh, Tennessee offensive coordinator
Jeff Grimes, Baylor offensive coordinator
Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss coach
Jeff Lebby, Oklahoma offensive coordinator
Lance Leipold, Kansas coach

Bethune might be only W.

Sadly, of that list, I see several that would be chosen before Gattis.

Please please edit your post to say: "There's no way Auburn could pass up THE reigning Broyles Award Winner. The choice is clear!" :)

Also, some Auburn Boosters did want Steele instead of Harsin. Steele may not have been mentioned by that newspaper in Auburn but other media outlets have mentioned Steele's name.

I called that literally a few plays before it happened. I said to my buddy, “there will be a 3rd and 10+ conversion at some point this drive that will seal the game” and literally happened minutes later.

Like clockwork manny.
I know at one point the Suckeyes had a 3rd and 10 and Manny was obviously bringing a lot of pressure.

ALL the defensive backs were giving 10 yard cushions, and they just threw a slant and the guy split 2 defenders for the first down.

Looked familiar.

Chadwell is not getting any big time P5 jobs

Biggest hick on that list and TrumpyCane is friends with some big time grizzly bears in Auburn area that have used that reason as why Auburn will not hire him

If we played the teams penn state has played what do you think we would be ranked?we are playing garbage teams
Opponents average offensive ranking of teams played - P5 only (vs other P5 teams):

Penn State- 43
(Top 40- OSU, Purdue and Michigan)

'Canes- 58
(Top 40- UNC and Duke)

Maybe best to check back next week after PSU plays Indiana-

Penn State- 50
(Top 40- OSU, Purdue and Michigan)

'Canes- 51
(Top 40- FSU, UNC and Duke)
