Stats of OC Candidates [updated w Heckendorf stats]

We shall see, we paid $1.5mil for *****, I’m sure we would give a cool million to Yost, Bedenbaugh, or one of the other OC’s to come in. That’s a lot of dough especially to a FCS coordinator

Brady, Yost, Bedenbaugh....

ANY one of their agents are going to DEMAND what Enos got: $1.5 million.

Thank you, Blake James. You too, Manny, you slug.

So Gleeson and Yost are the top two. Open up the checkbook and make them say no.
Sounds about right.

The more I research Gleeson the more I want him as a potential OC. Offers a very balanced offense that will feed our freaks in the rb room plenty, and is extremely efficient in an area that our offense has been deficient in - the red zone.

Yost would be amazing too: he’s been in the game for a while, he has xp as a recruiting coordinator so he more than likely knows the tricks of the trade (hopefully dispelling rumors that he “can’t recruit” or “relate to kids”), his offenses are pass heavy but at the same time don’t neglect the run game, he’s also excellent in the red zone and can put points up on you in a hurry.

What I like about all the candidates is that they can all put up points easily (we couldn’t), they are proponents of pace and space (all avg 70+ plays/gm and employ spread/air raid concepts) while still utilizing the run game well, and more importantly they are ACTUALLY innovative and willing to ADAPT the scheme to fit the personnel and not the opposite.

Coaching is nomadic by nature. They take jobs looking for ways to catapult themselves forward. They also know and understand being fired is a real possibility every time they move.

We are a P5 team with real talent. There are no shortage of quality coaches out there who’d love this job.

Quality coaches who want this job huh? Then where are they?

You realize that you switched your argument from the no quality OC because the program is a dumpster fire to we will be outbid. Totally different arguments. Money does talk. We might be able to out spend a few schools. Just a guess. And bringing back the Miami brand on offense is attractive to any competitive person 🙂

Yeah...both are factors why this program will remain stagnant. The program is a total mess because we make stupid hires and the money that they do have they waste it on the likes of Diaz and Enos.

Don't know why more people don't follow this guy ore Twitter but he presents some really informative stats. Give me a look.

Thanks for the love! I really appreciate it.

I just do this all for fun. This all came from some names on folks wishlists and wanted to put the stat comparison together.

Hope everyone enjoys them and it starts good conversation!

Cheers!

Nothing about Heckendorf excites me. Might as well go after Fedora. I'd prefer neither. It's time we see a true air raider and/or innovator at the U.

Lance Roffers vs Honest Rob , falls count anywhere in the building. Winner is the cis analytic nerd.

May the best man win.

Seriously doe , good stuff brotha.

Dabo was close to getting fired. They’d made Clemsoning a verb. Then they spent the money to get Venables from Oklahoma. Miami has the defense and they have the money to get who they need.

Actually Venables fell in their lap.

Stoops brother was getting canned at Arizona and bob made room for him as Co DC with Venables. Venables wanted out.

Agree. But the problem today is the same problem since Butch left. Pretty clear evidence that the decision makers aren't even capable of identifying the offensive version of Venables let alone hiring him as OC.

Going to add two names. Jedd Fisch, Brennan Marion. I would not listen too much to folks listing all the usual suspects. There is no rush to hire this spot, look far and wide and hire the best person you can.

Well with signing day less than 40 days out and with our need for more o-linemen, it would be good and better for the new oc to get here so he can put his staff together. And i'd like to say this in advance, coach diaz, once the oc is hire, just introduce em, we dont need you spewing your unknowledgeable nonsense, let's see some real productiom first, you're not qualified to be speaking out of turn!
