We will be tracking the stats of all of our former players to see if they made the right choice or if we made the right choice. Before looking at the stats, I just want to point out that a lot of these guys were told to leave for various reasons, there is a small amount of players that told the coaches they are leaving.

LF Blake Cyr (SR) (Florida)

OF Edgardo Villegas (SR) (TampaU)

RHP Slaide Naturman (SR)
Can't find any info on him

OF Lorenzo Carrier (JR) (Pittsburgh)

1B/3B Jason Torres (JR) (Alabama)

RHP Julian Hernandez (RS SO) (Nova Southeastern)

RHP Ashton Crowther (RS SO) (South Carolina)

SS Antonio Jimenez (SO) (UCF)

RHP Chris Diaz (SO) (FGCU)

LHP JT Caruso (SO) (UConn)

RHP Jordan Vargas (SO) (Miami-Dade)

RHP Brandon Olivera (SO) (Miami-Dade)

You are correct on your statement on why they are no longer with the program.
I think Crowther will become a good college level pitcher. Other than Cyr, I'm not gonna miss any of the players that are not here any longer...

Reality is if we would of kept that same exact team, we would be worse than we are today and would possibly have a worse record than last year. Just look at the stats of these guys. Not good. I think Jimenez will be a better player than Cyr, he is the one im 50/50 on losing. He improved in the cape this summer

Urso off to a good start at Tampa.

Reyes will get coached up at Rowan Gloucester Coach Valli is legit. Best d3 Juco in the country.

Agree , Jimenez could have been an upgrade at SS this year but if Torres and Cyr stayed they both are basically DH’s … I wouldn’t have minded seeing Diaz get it one more year .. Let’s just get to 2 - 0 tonight and forget what we had !!! 🙌🙌

Carrier is raking right now for Pitt. Cyr is definitely missed. Jimenez will develop nicely at UCF.

Alex Valentin was part of the staff on Texas State who just beat A&M, a guy who was cut in fall last year. He went 4.2 innings with 1 run allowed

Just playing devils advocate...but maybe we need a kid like that. A&M is HOSTILE..they(Fans and Players) are top 10 in trash talk. That kid went in there confident and then yelled into his dugout when it was over.

That being said, I'm not a huge fan of overly emotional because they also tend to be the ones when things go wrong they cant cope with someone giving it back and the wheels fall off quick. So this kids season will probably be a rollercoaster if he makes it through.

If he was that massive of a d-bag but everyone knew he was talented someone could have punched him in the mouth told him to chill out and lets go win games. But the one thing we have all questions the last few years is how tough we are and this kid looks like he probably walks into practice like Vince McMahon on Monday Night Raw.

Crazy game when you can barely get a kid out from Binghampton and then a few days later you shove against a top 10 team at their place.

Here is the article from Mike Kaffee talking about Valentine's performance on opening day of fall scrimmage.
"As reported on Tuesday the high expectations of great things to come, fell on a flat note via ineffective pitching. It seems that I was not the only one to feel this way in that the pitching roster is now sporting one man less in the BP. Left-handed pitcher Alex Valentin appears to have been cut after just one outing."

I looked at both Cyr and Torres' stats tonight...one in front and behind Cuvet in the order.
Imagine if LeBron was granted his wish to sign with Miami....one can only dream.

Half way through the season. Only players I would take back is

Jimenez
Torres

Player to keep an eye on from this list is Luca Reyes. He redshirted at Miami. He is having a great season for one of the top d2 programs.

I would also keep an eye on JT Caruso. Off to a good start at UConn. Love his arm. Only pitched 6 innings for us due to injury.
