This class is loaded with state champions. This is great for this program because those kids know what it takes to win. Hopefully they can infuse that winning attitude onto the rest of this team.

Committed state champions
  1. Nigel Bethel II
  2. Tyre Brady
  3. Trevor Darling
  4. Christopher Herndon
  5. Kiy Hester
  6. Demetrius Jackson
  7. Courtel Jenkins
  8. Brad Kaaya
  9. Nick Linder (won in 2012)
  10. Anthony Moten (won in 2012)
  11. Chad Thomas
  12. Travonte Valentine
  13. Joseph Yearby

We could add 1 more with Cook.

Wasn't that randy Shannon's thought process also? Jus sayin I remember him recruiting winners who ended up being lazy turds. In any case though I trust goldens recruiting.

Players were lazy as their Head Coach...followed the leader

Yes, except with Randy it was top heavy, no depth, for every Ray ray there was a highsmith

As others have mentioned, we've seen this movie before. Everyone was so pumped up about the 2008 class b/c it specifically featured so many state champs from MNW and BTW. We all thought, "they are winners! They will bring winning back!" Look what happened. I know the situations are not the same, but it's only a small part of what makes you a good player and your team good.

It is arguably a better sign when a kid plays big time ball, his team generally isn't that good, but he is so good that he elevates the team to the playoffs, etc. Sometimes dominant high school team can mask deficiencies in a prospect, i.e. a running back who gets amazing blocking, a QB whose WRs blow by DBs, etc. I don't think it means **** what their teams did. Stacey Coley's team sucked, correct? And he is by far our best player from last year's class.
