Stat that floored me

This is how you build a sustaining program.

The mopes will point to Samson, and I get it. On paper, signing 5-stars is great. But if they never play, then who gives a ****? But the point is, you stack chips. If you go to the bar and talk to no girls or sheepishly approach one, you can't complain when you get home with your **** in your hand. If you go fire off game like a Gatling Gun, odds are you're gonna bring home a prize. Not every recruit, 5-star or not, is gonna hit. But this is how you build a long, successful, sustaining program. Stack. Mother. ******. Chips.

Francis is a clear hit.

Samson could still be a hit cause I don't believe development is linear.

The DL have a chance this year to hit.

If 2 of Scott, Blount, Lightfoot hit, that changes almost everything
I hope Samson takes the RG position this season and kicks to RT next year after Bell leaves. Year 3, now is the time.

Six Composite five stars on OL and DL since 2023. Most in America during that span. And that doesn’t include Hayden Lowe, who was a 247 five star but not Composite.

Alabama was second with five, and Georgia and Texas tied with four.

This is how you BUILD championship rosters. We all have to be thankful that Mario not only realizes that, but he makes it a **** priority. Numbers don't lie, look at how many 5 star OL/DL become NFL draft picks. The hit rates are insane.

It’s a numbers game, if you don’t stack that elite talent you have no shot at being great

Not every 5 star will work out, but most do and when they do they’re the best in college football and high draft picks

OBMagic, This is not directed at you.

How in the F can anyone really point at Samson to fit their narrative? I mean I get that some will, but he's literally a REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE. In addition, he was injured and needed surgery on his knee (I believe it was an ACL, but Czar Cristobal doesn't release that info) which means it required extensive rehab. Even if it wasn't an ACL replacement surgery, a knee injury takes a while to recover from. Last I checked, players get 5 years to play 4 seasons, meaning Samson has 3 more seasons ahead of him. Yes, he hasn't done much to this point, but that's also relatively normal for linemen. He also has a first rounder and a 6'8" bohemoth ahead of him on the depth chart. Maybe he cracks the lineup at guard, maybe not. O Linemen don't generally rotate like D linemen do, which makes it that much tougher to make an impact early.

Damione Lewis gonna turn these kids into the type of DL he was. If memory serves me correct he was the #1 rated DT when Butch got him in one of his first major wins on the trail. He didn’t rest on his #1 DT laurels, Coach Lewis developed into a complete beast! He helped make those late 90’s-early 2000’s DLines terrors. My $0.02.

Go Canes!
