With results like that, it's going to take us at least two years to start complaining.
 
The effect of a quality DL coach is simply huge. For me, nothing paints that picture better than the difference in Calais Campbell's play (along with the rest of the DL) between the 2006 season with palermo and the 2007 season without him.

2006 -- 20.5 TFL and 10.5 sacks
2007 -- 12.5 tfl and 6.5 sacks

Granted, Campbell still had a solid 2007 season and had already been developed by Palermo, but I am certain that some of that regression in production is due to the downgrade of the day-to-day influence of quality coaching.
 
Well the new staff has one huge advantage ---- VERY LOW BASE LINES. It should be almost impossible to not improve ever single sat line given the Golden comparable gift. That part will be easy for Mark. The hard part will be keeping fan base happy.

Stats can be misleading ....... I think it is actually worse than the numbers show
- based on my memory - the majority of our TFL's are against inferior teams such as 1-AA and Sun Belt like competition

Hard to remember many times in the last few years were we got multiple sacks against an above .500 team ......hence never got off the field
 
But who led the Nation in " Holding The Point Of Attack" Chick had to lead the country in his last 3 years

50 TFL per year is a huge difference especially when as a poster mentioned 24 of those TFL came against FCS competition (famu,bethune) type schools
 
Over the length his career Chick led the FCS in FYBB, "fewest yards blocked backwards".
