Starting to think Richt

He left cause "Calling plays" wasnt a fun a CMR remembered. He was burnt out and fans were calling for his son's head. His top asst (Manny) just left and now he was stuck with a defensive staff who's resume looked alot like his sons. CFB is really a young(er) man's game and CMR was at a point where he would have to put in even more time than he did before.

We all should be grateful he left the way he did. Or we'd be stuck with Manny until CMR's buyout was fully paid off. IIRC, he left $20M on the table when he resigned. Can't say I would of done the same

Actually, we’d be better off had he not resigned. He probably would have flopped in 2019 and gotten fired. And although we’d have to pay Richt’s buyout, we probably wouldn’t make Manny his replacement, since Manny would have flopped at Temple.

And you think Blake James would of hired someone competent to replace him!? We probably would of ended up with manny either way lol

retired because he knew our Admin was killing the program and there was no way he could save it.
"It's a mess down here."
He retired because:

1) His offense was doomed. His o line recruits had not panned out. He needed a semi capable o line and he likely knew that 2019 would be worse than 2018.
2) To negate that factor, he needed an entirely new scheme that he didn’t believe him
3) He probably realized he needed two to three years to right the ship in regards to the offensive line, and he was not going to be given that amount of time.

To that point, had he stayed I think that our record would have been exactly the same this year, but with larger margins of defeat. We may not have gotten the transfer portal impact that’s Manny did (for good and bad) and we would have been rolling with NKosi the entire year (Jarren would have transferred).

Fans here need to quit reliving the past.cmr retired got us our one and only coastal division let the man go in peace.plus he left 20 million on the table.on top of that was burned out and too tired of fighting the pressure from the administration and fans.

He retired because he was lazy and sucked as coach.

He wanted to have a staff with his son as QB coach, and Banda and Patke as co-DCs. He retired because the admin rose a stink about that.

Outside of OC, I'm pretty sure that it is safe to say he was constrained by the budget he was provided. Pretty short sighted to think he could have paid $2 million a year for a DC, went with Diaz instead, and unlimited funds for assistants and said "find me Banda and Patke"

Richt's demise started in 17' with all those close games, it finally showed it's ugly face beginning with that loss to Pittsburgh.

Yeah Rosier had His issues, people say defenses figured Him out, but the real problem was defenses figured out Richt's garbage *** O.

And please stop saying He left $20M on the table, that hasn't been documented anywhere.

He quit, quitters don't get buyouts.

Sometimes coaches get retirement buyouts. Although that usually requires them to have achieved more than Richt did at Miami.

Were we paying Banda and Patke co-DC salaries in 2019? TBH, I strongly suspect we were, and I’ve seen nothing to indicate that we weren’t.

And did they get a multi year contract? If they did, that means we’ll be paying Banda and Patke co-DC salaries in 2020 too.

And is the co-DC salary only half of a normal DC salary? If it’s not, then that means we’d be paying 3 guys (Banda, Patke, Baker) full DC salaries in 2019 and possibly 2020.
Yes we were. Paying 4 coordinator contracts
