retired because he knew our Admin was killing the program and there was no way he could save it.
"It's a mess down here."

when you’re accustomed to playing in the big leagues, you know what it looks like.

and CMR knew this team is more than just a good OC away from competing at the highest level.

That’s enough to beat FIU, Duke, LA Tech, and GT. But Miami is a long way from being elite.

Our DT and DB play, along with the OL and QB play leave a lot to be desired.

That.....and the fact that he wouldn't sh*tcan his kid "leading" our QB room.

Was never a fan of old Kirby Haircut and Shawn Eichorst but makes me wonder if they didn't see the writing on the wall and got the **** out of dodge.

Were we paying Banda and Patke co-DC salaries in 2019? TBH, I strongly suspect we were, and I’ve seen nothing to indicate that we weren’t.

And did they get a multi year contract? If they did, that means we’ll be paying Banda and Patke co-DC salaries in 2020 too.

And is the co-DC salary only half of a normal DC salary? If it’s not, then that means we’d be paying 3 guys (Banda, Patke, Baker) full DC salaries in 2019 and possibly 2020.

He was done at Georgia, a couple of years before he was let go. Not completely, but he wasn't all in like he was when he was younger. Nothing wrong with that, it happens in life and you realize there's a ton of other things in life you could be spending time on that the job doesn't allow for. Financially set, what was the point any longer?

Opportunity called with us and the timing of anything. He flat out said he planned on taking some time away. I doubt he would've ever coached again, but he like most, couldn't pass what time and circumstances put at his feet. A chance to coach at his alma mater.

I think he went in with the best of intentions. As he got into it, those things he wanted to do off the field, he remembered why he wasn't all in at Georgia and the rest is history.

Financially set, he did what few others would've ever dreamed of, he walked away leaving any money he could've hung around for on the table and a big gift towards the IPF. We don't need to make up **** and tarnish his short legacy here when he could've gone through the motions and thus forcing our hand with paying a buyout down the road.

It's too bad we got him in richtirement and being stubborn. He could've done really really well just cruising along and fully devoting himself to recruiting but noooo he had to prove he was some offensive savant.
With a modern OC/QB coach we would've been a consistent Coastal Champion and built from there.

Dude had a heart attack 8 months or so after he retired. It’s far deeper than the Miami admin. He was legitimately in trouble with his health because of this job
This.

IIRC he used to also have panic attacks his 1st season at UGA before games.

He promoted Banda/Patke to DC, he wanted to keep his son as QB coach and wanted to continue to call plays

How exactly are you blaming an admin who ponied up $$$ for a buyout, fired coaches remaining salaries, and gave Enos a million dollars

richt was checked out
