Start Perry

Exactly, nothing to lose. If he balls out, we got some renewed energy going forward. If he sucks, at least we know now. But I’m inclined to believe he will play at least marginally better than Rosier.
There's everything to lose. We haven't played an ACC game yet

Why the **** would we play Perry if Perry can't beat rosier out in practice for two years in a row ?

You guys have to see how moronic that is

Disagree that Perry should start against Toledo.

He should relieve Rosier. Either because Miami is up by 28 after the 1st quarter, or because Richt decided one quarter for each of them - with Rosier starting, or because Rosier was so ineffective he had to be pulled. But, he needs to TAKE the job, not have it gifted to him. That goes the same for Weldon or Williams.

Not totally opposed to this. However look how we came out in the 1st QTR vs Savannah St. No energy. Starting a new QB could light a fire under the offense and most importantly the OL.

Feagles is doing great in practice

Our O-line is really coming together in practice, Richt is comfortable with the #1s

Our LBs look great out there in practice

Dean has really turned the corner in practice

Knowles has put it all together in practice this offseason

Rosier has taken the next step in practice over the offseason

--- These are all things Richt said over the past couple of months, notice a trend? I think it's fair to say practice is being overrated

So the fact that Perry hasn't overtaken rosier who was never expect to even take a snap for us during his career here tells you that.....we need to start Perry?

You guys are giving Perry way too much credit. If he had his **** together and gave us a better shot to win he would be starting

start cade
he's the only one who threw up the U after he scored
its just a gut but i feel he has an edge/swag that the others are missing so
more than physical traits I want my qb to be a killer and a leader of men seems cade may have those traits

I disagree, Perry needs to work with the 1's all week and mentally prepare himself as the starter. See what works and what doesn't work with him running the offense. Throwing him out there when Malik struggles is a recipe for disaster and you're setting him up for failure, very rarely does it work when you throw a guy out there mid game.

That wouldn’t bother me a bit. However, throwing him out there to start is the same.

Perry May have the most upside potential out of him Rosier, but he also has the most downside potential. Remember, Perry was under 50% completion on Greentree during spring and fall camp, iirc.
Also remember that Perry was playing with the two's going against the one's. That in of itself makes a huge difference.

Swag has been a problem for years. Everybody's so concerned with how they look doing sht that they forget to do the actual sht first.

I want my QB to be able to get the ball to the right guys, that's it. If he wants to sing and dance after that's fine, but I'm not using his willingness to sing/dance as a sign that he's a good QB.

When a player gets benched, it does not necessarily mean that they player behind him, out performed him. It means that the player who's being benched, did not perform at a starter level in the games. This is not just regarding QB's or even football, for that matter. This principle is applicable to all team sports.

Ever heard of the phrase, "we beat ourselves?" There will always be scenarios in which teams will lose games that they are suppose to win, and players are going to lose their positions on the depth charts due to their own poor performance, rather than the performances from opposing team's or in the case of a position battle, the other player.

We have to move on from Malik, not because Perry, Weldon, or Williams have outperformed him in games, but because Rosier has not proved himself worthy of being a starter. The other QB's can't have the chance to outperform him in games, if they only play against garbage teams.

Malik deserves to be benched. His performance proves that fact. The other QB's off the field issues or greentree performance should not factor into the matter.

In all fairness, Perry had all spring/summer to earn the job. Even with Rosier's help, what does that say?
So you're telling me that if Richt knew Perry was suspended for the 1st game since spring practices (which was stated before), that he is going to come out and tell the team that you know what guys even though Perry hasn't been doing what he needs to do off the field we're still going to start him after his suspension. It doesn't work like that, what's the point of naming him starter and prepping him all off season with the one's when he's not even going to start week 1. Notice how he got the most burn of all the QB's yesterday Rosier included. If the competition was that close Weldon would've thrown more than 2 passes.

Lets bring Kosi along at the pace he is just a little out of his comfort zone with the see if he can handle the position. I would like to see him get 4-5 series against Toledo, 3 quarters against FIU, then start him UNC. I would really like that to happen, but he needs to make it happen more than any fan on here wants it to happen.

Kosi did some nice things for literally playing for the first time in his college career. I thought he was quick with his decisions, had some good ball placement, and ran the operation of the offense well.

Now he does have a funky motion, i think he needs to speed up his drop and feet, and i would like him to stay in the pocket for a count or two more before bailing. I don't feel like he was staring down his target, but i'll watch it again

That makes logical sense, I just don't get how you pretend to know. How do you know that Perry was the real starter byt Richt has been keeping that under wraps because he had to suspend Perry?

This is what I'm talking about. People keep making up theories about all kinds of things based on the flimsiest of evidence.

Rosier was the legit starter because none of the other guys have been consistent enough to take the job from him. Occam's Razor.

Also saying that Perry has not overtaken Rosier yet, faulting Perry for that is asinine. Because Perry along with the other QBs were never really granted the opportunity to unseat Rosier, despite what came from Richt over the offseason.
