He should be starting next game. There is no reason why he shouldn’t. Richt even came out and blamed himself for the INT he threw.

While he may not light up the scoreboard, he doesn’t look worse than Malik, so cut to the chase and start the man. If we start him, there is no doubt in my mind we beat Toledo soundly. If we start Rosier, however, it will be another close game. Something I’m really getting sick of.

And, if Perry looks like a deer in the headlights, you can always put Rosier back in, although I’d prefer we try some of the other back ups.

Theres nothing to lose really might as well let him start.
Exactly, nothing to lose. If he balls out, we got some renewed energy going forward. If he sucks, at least we know now. But I’m inclined to believe he will play at least marginally better than Rosier.

Agreed, there is no chance at a ship with Rosier, and who knows with Perry or JW. Might just click for either and better arm talent may allow to us simplify things for them as they grow up.

at least with NP or JW we will beat the teams we are suppose to beat, with Malik we are on upset alert every week.

I agree that there’s not much to lose by starting one of the other guys, but what makes you think we’d win the ones we’re supposed to? I don’t get why people are so sure about what I guy we’ve barely seen would do in games. How do you know he wouldn’t throw 3 pick 6s?

Just saying that while I’m ready to give the kid a go, there’s no reason to pretend we know what we’d get with him.

Probably won't happen.

Rosier does nothing for me. I have this pit in my stomach when I see him play.

Disagree that Perry should start against Toledo.

He should relieve Rosier. Either because Miami is up by 28 after the 1st quarter, or because Richt decided one quarter for each of them - with Rosier starting, or because Rosier was so ineffective he had to be pulled. But, he needs to TAKE the job, not have it gifted to him. That goes the same for Weldon or Williams.

You must have missed the LSU game then.

Rosier stinks.

malik tried his hardest to give the job away in 4 of the last 5 games.

And that’s the thing to me. We’re all ****ed about how bad Rosier has been, but the truth is that nobody else has taken the job from him. It’s not seniority or favoritism, it’s poor play. The other guys haven’t been better in practice. They all had their moments last night but nobody looked so good that you should wonder why Rosier is starting.

It’s time to get them in the game, but one of them needs to step up.

Which is what we’ve been saying for a long time now.

Starting and coming in as a back up just totally different mind set. I think we are all just curious what that would look like, and as stated, if it goes wrong make another switch. If it went awful, the support for Rosier would be better so ehhh, don't see much of a downside.

Starting Malik is a lose-lose. He'll either suck bad enough that he'll HAVE TO BE replaced or he'll play "well" enough to delay the inevitable for another week.
If we wait for him to fck up, we'll have to put our backup in, down by 10+ (Richt obviously isnt making a move down 7).
If Malik plays well enough to delay his benching.. can anyone honestly say they won't be worried about his play THE VERY NEXT WEEK? Just like THIS week. Does anyone have faith in his play after Sav St? If he plays decently by Malik standards at Toledo is that enough to make you say "yeah we can trust him now"?

Why are we having this debate? "Perry isn't ready." Playing time is how we remedy that.
There is no reason to fall for what Malik is selling again.
"Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again!"

Say what ya will....I still think Weldon is the sleeper....Loved his look on the Play Action throw (hid the ball beautifully)...very reminiscent of his Dad...
