im all over this these dudes watch us every week...n are in here talking bs.

lol Mario is gonna wanna "establish the run"...stanford offense wont be playing fast and they will get some first downs an scores.

im taking stanford and the under.

Stanford team total is 7.5 at the moment.

We had covered every game until Louisville.

Dog vs ND, won outright
-17.5 vs USF, won by 37
-8.5 vs UiF, won by 19
-3.5 vs FSU, won by 6

Do any of you get tired of being completely insufferable every minute of your lives?

4-1 ATS on the season.
Has nothing to do with being "insufferable"; it's also looking at what teams have scored on Stanford and what we have scored.

30 pts is alot of points . I watched the game vs FSU. Even down a number of starters, including the QB, they played hard. They will be motivated again this week given our loss and their win last week.

He said Mario hates Vegas. Insinuating we never cover the spread. He didn't say "I don't think we cover this week against Stanford". Had he, I'd have said I tend to agree, 30.5 is a ton of points. But he did not.

I keep going back and forth and then back on this one.

Scenario #1. After taking the loss, we run the ball with little resistance allowing Beck throws to wide open guys, taking advantage of 2/3 of a Stanford team.

Scenario #2. Same as #1 but the backups are in by mid 3rd, giving up a garbage TD on D and watching Emory struggle with the forward pass on offense.

Scenario #3. Stanford makes us beat them with anyone not named Malaki or CJ, we struggle being physical and they scheme their way to a couple TD's keeping it to a 14 point win.

I honestly have no feel on which will happen, if any of them.

Would like to add some context here.

After the UF game (secret sauce to defend this iteration of the offense ends up on tape), the view of the teams ability to counter should brought under serious consideration.

It’d be smart to start betting against large spreads like these with our slow and ineffective offense.

I think #2. I'd be surprised if we're not up by ~30 at some point in the game, but do we actually win by 30? I wouldn't lay it, but I wouldn't be surprised with a 45-10 final either.

We'll see on Saturday. It's a lot of points, for sure. Stanford is also completely awful, a MASH unit, and flying across the country. I won't be betting it, but I'm not going to be remotely surprised to see this game something like 45-10.

i dont think the issue is us not covering. its that the line is way too high for what we can truly cover imo. we havent scored 30 on a p4 team all year. its going to be hard to win by 30 esp given the way we manage the game. well win easily, but we wont win by 30 simply bc we wont run it up. well go up 2-3 scores early and run the clock out from there. i see a 28-3 type game in the fourth with stanford getting some junk td at the end.

I think Stanford is markedly worse than USF. But I understand your point. I won't bet it, winning 30-10 wouldn't shock me, but neither would 48-13, so.....

And just before anyone goes nuts, Massey has USF 38th and Stanford 76th.
Colley has USF 12th and Stanford 78th
SP+ has USF 41st and Stanford 110th

30 points ? How many games have we scored 30 points ? 2?
Virginia beat Stanford 48-20

SMU beat them 34-10.

BYU beat them 27-3

These were all away games for Stanford

don't see Miami beating them by 30 points.
Taking Stanford +30.
Free money.
I wouldn’t touch this line with a 10 foot pole. I do think we bounce back and win fairly comfortable, but the way we play so conservatively on offense that’s a massive point spread. Then, even if we did get up by 30 late you have to bake in the inevitable, “Let’s take all of our starters out and coast to the finish line” ending. The fact the line has moved up a point means some people out there are taking Miami, but I just don’t trust it.
