The running game and offense disappointed against FSU too, no?
Yeah the lack of creativity with the OL splits being as is seems to create this boom or bust result. And if that gets compounded with a bad Beck game then we're in trouble vs good teams. I didn't wanna overreact as with all that going wrong we only lost by 3. But if we don't tighten it up we can no doubt lose to teams like Smu & Pitt who are capable of putting up points. What concerns me most is our mentality of playing not to lose instead of going for the kill. I wanna see that 2023 vs TAMU Dawson playcalling.

I think it should be time for the flips,.we're halfway thru the season now guys see proof of concept on field

Was that before or after UF showed everyone how to put the offense in check?

The season isn’t played in a vacuum. Until Miami shows a counter to what UF, FSU, and UL did, why would you expect them to magically change?

Is that due to scheme or athletes? Stanford can’t do what those teams did because they don’t have the athletes to do it.

You wanna play us like fsu did? No problem, Stanford is in the 100s in every pass defense metric. Perfect get right spot for Beck.

I'm trying to figure out why we recruit RBs like Pringle or Chris Johnson if we just smash RBs into the A gap over and over. Somebody help me here.
Chris doesn’t have the vision to bounce outside. He also was likely too fast for inside zone or didn’t have the patience. He would get to the A gap before any movement occurred then would just run outside or keep pushing agains the wall. To run inside zone correctly, kids need to be patient and have great vision & understanding of when to bounce from A to B to C. I have a feeling Lyle And Pringle will look better in the back 6 games.

I also think Moore, Trader, Lofton, and please play Gilbert&schott… all look a ton better in the back 6.

We really need to land Parris! He is another sure X receiver vs Flanker trying to play X. Two years ago Young, last year Horton, this year Moore. Horton had to share time with Brown a flanker. Moore with Marion another flanker, ImO.

I love seeing all these BIG DTs. We need 3/class Min. Some may end up 295-305 at 3t. Others NT types which we don’t really have. The bigger 5t DEs may grow into 3t or tweeners like Blount.

Assuming that Beck doesn’t turn into TVD with his unfortunate field reads and decisions then I agree.

I just need to see these guys choads actually adjust to something successfully.

what UF did?, they didnt play us like FSU or UL, we ran for 184 yards vs them.

FSU and UL sold out to strop the run, we torched FSU with 4 passing TD's. UL confused Beck all game with pre snap reads.

none were alike

That’s not true at all.

The offense was constipated against UF.

Miami had a 17 or 18 play drive for like 40yds that only lead to a field goal near the end of the 1st quarter. They were up 10-0.

Then it was 13-0 at half time after another excruciatingly inefficient 10-play drive that led to a FG.

71 of Miami’s 184yds (38%) came on two 4th quarter drives that Miami needed to pull away.

You can create the blueprint on how to slow down/beat a team without necessarily having to win the game.

I find it funny when dawsons offense is referred to as a air raid. Hal mumme mouse davis would be insulted

I’ve seen multiple articles and also a podcast of Hal Mumme praising Dawson. Dawson got his start under him.
