Staff needs to press for Donaldson

I'm not 100% sure if they are or not but the staff needs to turn it up on Donaldson because I know he is starting to visit other schools and you never want to see other schools show more love than the one you are currently committed to.

I can't attest to how much "love" the staff is showing any recruit, but I'd be willing to bet they give Donaldson a lot of love. Once a kid commits I'm sure this staff stays in frequent contact. I'd bet again that that they'll have him back on campus soon.

Love how recruiting works these days. Guy "commits", guy then goes on visits all over the country to other schools, guy feels like he needs more love from the school he is currently committed to, guy holds staff hes committed to hostage until he rlly decides where he wants to go. Not picking on Donaldson alone here because its pretty much every South FL kid that does this. When you're a high 4 star talent like Donaldson why commit that early if you know you are going to be taking a ton of visits and you know **** well your not fully committed??? I get it if your a 3 star who gets an offer from a big school and you need to hold your spot in the class. But I will never understand why 4/5 star guys commit to a school, but then go on a million unoffical visits but still expect your current committed school to kiss your ***.

And for those that will say it is a once in a lifetime experience for the recruits, let them enjoy, I fully agree with that sentiment. But then don't COMMIT to a school. If you want to fully enjoy your process then act like Mcfarland. Name leaders, take all your visits, then once you have had your fun choose which schools fits you best.

And unfortunately, this type of mentality is exceptionally true of So Fla recruits. I've been around top So Cal recruits, top rated Mississippi and Lousiana recruits...and if they commit to a school, very slim chance of flipping them. The only time you see kids from those areas decommit is when that school's coaching staff basically cools on them or a scandal jeopardize their playing abilities. That's why I said, in another thread, that the chance of getting Carr from USC is going to be dang near impossible.

So Fla recruiting is a totally different beast, man; I've never seen anything like it. Even though we're the "home team" and they're in our back yard, I always feel like the underdog in recruiting our own kids.

I just never seen kids not wanting to be the man in their own back yard. Like who wouldn't want to walk around their own city and be looked at like a G??! I remember when USC won the title in 05, and all those So Cal kids were getting celebrated for months. When I talked w/ Darnell Bing, that was the thing he said...he was like "cuh, you see this??! Ninja (the other version), this is y u come to SC, to be the man in your town."

Meanwhile in So Fla, they just wanna be catered to by any broad on the block no matter how stank the cooch is. I get wanting the exposure, and seeing different things, but just acting wishy washy to the home school, I don't know man...just don't get it.

Also, if I commit to a school, it's so they can spend their time and energy on other kids, not spending the same amount of time continuing to recruit me.

Hopefully Pete passes this message to Doherty. WayneJr is a credit to UM for passing this along. See something. Say something.

South Florida is its own deal, Relly. I've been down here 75 years now, and the local ******* media treats UF and FSU like they're local teams despite them being redneck pastures 5 and 6 hours from here. Those places are more Alabama and Georgia than they are South Florida, but the ******* faces down here love to pimp them some UF and FSU.

This is what the new staff is trying to do. It will change, just need the right group of kids to come in at the same time!!!

That sounds like a rational 30+ year old, not a 16-17 year old teenager!!!

You guys forget that these kids and parents for the most part are going through this process for the first time. They all feel like what they are seeing is special and has never been done or said before. The coaches know this and all they have to tell every Arab is that they are the best they have ever recruited and they are their number 1 target. Then we all know the that same coach hangs up and tells the next 5 RB recruits the very same thing.

I owned several clubs when UM was rolling in the 80s and early 90s, and I can tell you those UM players were treated like royalty. They fcked the backs out of whatever hoes they wanted. They got in anywhere they wanted. They ran **** like Gs down here, sir.

No one cares about losers. We've been losing so much for so long that UM players don't have juice anymore.

Gogeta: We talking about LA homie....the 2nd largest city in the United States of America. LA ain't different than Miami at all. You got beaches, LA got beaches. Miami got Beiches....LA got Beiches. Miami wanna roll w/ winners, LA wanna roll with winners. Miami got Gold diggas looking for a meal ticket, LA got gold diggas looking for a meal ticket.

The Brazilian guy driving the Maserati ain't ish to this 20 year old who's about be worth 10x more than him once he gets in to the league. Not only is going to get paid, but he's going to be famous as well. What Miami chick wouldn't want to attach herself to that? LA is the same way, trust me.

Reading this thread reminds me the same thing can be said about T Slaton. How in the world do you let a 6'4 340 5.2 40 lineman leave your back yard without putting up a fight and making him a priority, this is giving me flashbacks of our db recruiting the past couple years. We end up signing lesser quality due to mistakes. At the end of the day, all this stuff goes to the president, coaches, staff and AD. If we develop a plan and strategy and start winning in impressive fashion then kids will stay home.
