Every coach is allowed a little leeway. If richt wants to have his under qualified son gain coaching experience under him, who are we to complain? The problem cones when this courtesy is extended to too many other coaching spots.

What exactly makes him under qualified? He played the position, spent time as a graduate assistant for a couple different universities, and even did a stint as an assistant in the NFL. What are the acceptable qualifications for a position coach? Different last name?

Was Austin a QB? Only QBs would really know the work JRicht put in. What I do know is JRicht was putting in tons of time to get Perry back on board and keep him and that alone is valuable. Also, we all know Richt wants to coach QB's his way but he still needs to get to the other areas of the team so he needs a guy like JRicht to do things his way when he's out of the room.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseam, but at the very least, the defenders of Jon Richt have to acknowledge that we could have hired a far more qualified coach/recruiter. It's nepotism and it's ok to acknowledge that. In my opinion, if having him as a dead weight on the staff is part of what landed us Mark, than that's fine. If we win enough, I won't care. If we don't, than it is a problem.
