So I was a little bored tonight and with all the hype surrounding the U lately, and all the stadium talk, I decided to crop UCF's stadium on to a couple of sites I feel can possibly be an option one day (maybe!). Now I'm not using any fancy software so the quality is not the best, it's just to give us diehards something tangible to think about.
I picked bright-house stadium because it has a similar capacity to what most of us on this forum think would be ideal for our canes. I wanted to use Baylor's stadium but it was a lot harder to crop using pages.
So here is my question to you guys, if we had no obstacles in front of us, and one of these was a real option in the future, which would you pick and why...pros and cons
1) tropical park: it makes sense since there is already a stadium in place and some parking around the park. Plus it's right next to the palmetto and close to campus.

2) on campus (almost): This may be the most far fetched of all 3 options. It's 3 blocks away from campus on the west side of 57 ave, so technically not in coral gables. I placed the stadium between two parks (Murray and Marshal) on top of the housing projects, a few homes and a church. I'm not a real estate agent nor a government official so I don't know how or if the land would ever be obtainable. But remember, this is a hypothetical (no hurdles).

3) Overtown (Beckham): this may be the least desirable for some of you guys, but it may also be the most realistic. The land is already locked in and the investors are in place ready to finance the stadium. With the right plan in place, we can share stadiums with Beckham, play relatively close to campus and have access to mass transportation. Remember that MLS and football don't really overlap too much. I know they want 30k seating capacity, but expanding to 40/45 is not a difficult thing to do. Technology has come a very long way.
4) Sun life stadium aka no life stadium: The only good thing about NLS is the tailgating, that's it. but to long time canes fans, this isn't a major issues since the OB was limited too in that department. The upgrades will be nice at NLS, but we will always be a tenant to Stephen Ross. He is a Michigan guy that couldn't care less about the Canes. He proved it when he hosted Gator day on the same field we play on. I think we all deserve better, coach Richt deserves better, and the school and the program both deserve better. We're getting a fresh start with all the changes going on in the program, I wish that fresh start meant a new stadium too.
Someone made an earlier post during the week welcoming us to big time college football. I enjoyed it but feel having our own home is an essential part of big time college football. it's time the administration does something about it. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the rendinrings...let me know what you think.
