No chance in Coral Gables, the only thing they like about the U are the taxes paid and money students spend in the community. If the U moved (not going to happen) what would Coral Gables be like.

a less crowded nice area...that the folks in coral gables would welcome....

they are not great neighbors,,,

One would think their tax base would shrink and thus an increase in taxes, will always be a nice area, just will cost the people there more money to be there, oh well!

with the wealth in the Gables..they would be worth the increase to them....the U was built to handle like 4000 well to do kids..limited sports and Harvard of the south..the gables got swallowed up....as for a stadium in the GABLES not happening traffic is a huge issue but not the only obstacle...this soccer idea on the island is interesting but I think the Robbies looked at that site in the 80s and traffic / parking was a mess so they went to Miami lakes and built Joe Robbie

except JRS is in miami gardens not miami lakes lol but agreed w what u said. traffic is a nightmare going down to campus as it is and with a stadium there, it would be chaos.

My bad...thanks....I remember just trying to get to the Duke BB game last year it was a nightmare with what 8000 people attending the game.....I always have hope they build or find a gem in the rough for UM...

can u imagine a thursday night game in the gables w the rush hour traffic that engulfs Useless 1. i don't mind the location of JRS since its accessible by a bunch of major highways but i do want to see some football upgrades to the place. the oB wasnt an on campus stadium either. we still took the metro from campus over to one of the stops (right before govt station i think) and then hopped on a bus to the stadium. it didnt take as long as it does currently but it still wasnt a 2 min walk. the OB tho was irreplaceable and had its own swagger (sorry nostalgic moment right there)

Najeh Davenport and crew couldn't get the fanbase to raise enough $ for "The U part 2". yeah we're getting a stadium. LOL..

lol lets just bulldoze the entire campus and forget about the students. lets only accommodate the 85 football players (75 this year but it should be back up to 85).

True, we'll just keep the current students accommodated with their awesome 45 minute trips to the stadium, who really needs an on campus stadium anyways?

University doesn't pay RE taxes (non- profit exemption). Also, wealthy nimby types would rather pay higher taxes to preserve their way of life. Not every locale is willing to put a back to the future 2 style casino in their town for tax savings.

Because all the petitions that have come and gone on this topic have been so effective, I'm all over this one.

25 year lease at No-life stadium. We going nowhere away from no-life. Get it straight.
