Stacy Searles Ol coach

Saban hired him, and he was the OL coach for their national title team.

Richt hired him from 07-10.
Then brown at Texas hired him.
Then Beamer hired him.
Richt hired him again.

So Saban, Richt, Beamer all hired him but some aren't excited?

Coaches move around all the time.

Upgrade from Kehoe.

Been at some top notch programs but cursory search on the boards for his last couple stops - VT and UT - have not showed favorable opinions of him. Tifwiw. I'm still hoping someone will shed some light as to why he's so good

You will find that with every coach. Look up John Chavis, same thing. Proly same thing on T-Rob, Muschamp, Smart, etc. Fans have unrealistic expectations and every second something doesnt go perfect, they say the coach sucks

Why has he bounced around so much if he's so great? Wouldn't all these great programs do what it takes to hang onto such a great coach?

Looks eerily similar to a Jethro type who bounces around and has an impressive looking résumé that doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Googled the guy. Resigned from uga to take Texas job. Uga fans were more than happy to see him go. Subsequently Texas fans weren't that happy with him.

^this. I'll take Mack brown, Saban, beamer, and richt all agreeing on a guy to mean he's legit

I've been reading a bit on him and it seems like he under performs. Especially at UGA. When he left for Texas the reaction seemed to be mixed but no one was too upset to see him go. It was kinda like "meh, we could do better."

I don't think you can really base too much off of his performance at Texas (even though the stats seem favorable) due to the dumpster fire that was that program.

With that being said, it looks like he's well respected amongst his peers. It's not a homerun hire in my eyes but a decent one. Only time will tell.

We've literally upgraded every single coach across the board so far.

Richt >Golden-HC
Richt/Brown>Coley-OC
Brown>Harris-RB
Searels>Kehoe-OL

Diaz>Donofrio-DC
Kool>Melvin-DL

Very true. Especially true with a position like oline where they are only noticed when things go wrong (sack or tfl). With other positions like wr or rb or qb or even on defense where guys can accumulate tackles, it's easier for fans to see if things are going well because there are easy to follow stats to quantify it.

In his last two stops: 1. Mack brown and the entire staff was fired, 2. Beamer retired and a Fuente was hired.

People **** on Jeff stoutland if u follow this board. If you aren't winning fans *****.

Perhaps I'm biased because he was at UGA around the same time I was, and I remember their OL being good... Still think he's a good coach, but I'll do some more due diligence.

I thought for certain it was mirabal. But this dude resume speaks for itself.

Same thing could be said every time Richt hires someone then everyone begins to fap over it.

In the absence of real knowledge, it's good to see people will continue to crown and bemoan every hire as if they've known the guy personally and played under him.
