Stacy Searels

Ill say this, gauthier was protecting rosier in that press conference when he said lsu threw in wrinkles they werent prepared for, lol. He knows like others, rosier did not pick up on obvious blitzes and make the right checks or change the play when necessary, rosier plays the qb position like he's blonde. Just clueless, you down 30 points and he's trotting, burning clock, no hustle as if we're down by 3 or 4points. Than on 3rd down instead of throwing to a receiver to move the sticks, he consistently tries to throw these sideline bombs out of bounds.

Where *** once kosi or perry get in their, they looking to win for real!

Searles IDK about.

It actually took injuries to Darling & Linder in 16' to actually get the line right.

Linder was getting absolutely blown off the ball against during that 4 game losing streak, He gets hurt, insert Gall, and all that $h!t ceased.

And Darling was struggling on the edge, He gets hurt, insert McDermott, & all $h!t ceased.

I have a very close friend who's son is an o-lineman recruited by a number of schools, including us, as well as several schools with staff either connected directly to Searles and his previous stints, or schools (with staff still in place) where Searles coached. The dad told me that nobody actually negative recruited against Searles, but it was made clear by every one of these connections that Searles was subpar. They were absolutely respectful, but the message was clear ... he's not a great coach. Having said that, the dad also would have been happy for his son to play here but we slowed played him (and he understood, no hard feelings) so we could try and get a local kid and make some inroads with a local coach. The dad loves UM and I have known him for 20+ years so I trust him when he says he would have sent his son here, but it would have been in spite of Searles, not in any way because of him.

Yeah, the vast majority of Golden Showers " top notch " recruits came here because it was the Miami Hurricanes and what not.

I still don't know about him. We have recruited the position like trash. Until we actually get some grown men on that line shxt isn't going to change no matter what coach we bring in.

It seems to me that both Richt and Searles want UPPER CLASSMEN to start on the offensive line. Of course, Donaldson is the lone exception to their offensive line philosophy. Whereas, several Power 5 schools actually start true freshmen or RS-freshmen, and even true sophomores. Heck, Wisconsin had TWO true freshmen starting against Miami in the Orange bow game. Go figure.

Barry Jackson wrote an article about how we paid a considerable amount for Searels (at Richt's request) and this guy is one of the biggest liabilities on the team. That guy Searels should be arrested for grand thief the amount of pay checks he's stealing.
i wasn't in love with the hire but how is he a liability? he recruited Donaldson, Gaynor, Herbet(we flipped him and he was highly regarded) Hillary, Reed, Campbell and scaife.
he inherited a bunch of soft guys. You guys dont understand alot of times the QB doesnt pick up the blitz, or he needs to audible and doesnt.
next year when Gaynor and donaldson are juniors and the 3 freshmen are sophmores. im confident the line will be strong.

We made it easy on the LSU defense when we fell so far behind...they were teeing off knowing we had to pass. Hard for any offensive line to be effective when that far behind. Also when your QB is moving around too much it is hard to form a pocket. Rosier and Feagles put us down so quick we were doomed. I'll give the OL a pass on this game for that reason alone. Oh, and we knew LSU was loaded on defense and they were experienced unlike what someone said here. We gifted them this game

Bull chit. LSU had FOUR experienced starters returning. Two of the D-linemen, a linebacker and an All-SEC defensive back. Heck, the broadcasting duo announced TRUE FRESHMEN on the LSU defense SEVERAL times during the broadcast! dUh!

Gauthier said during the hurry up he has to look for the signal to snap and the guards have to make the calls. 2 new starting Guards. Its crazy that Diaz is supposed to be so blitz heavy but our oline looked totally unprepared for it. LSU telegraphed several blitzes, especially on the edges. QB has to see that and adjust. Agree that oline wasn't the sieve some are making them out to be. Lost some 1 on 1s (as expected), but both RBs avg over 4 yards a carry. Rosier also tucked and ran when the pocket started the shift a little instead of sliding, keeping his eyes down field, and making a throw. RBs missed blitz pick ups as well.

Searles is not great but ok.

It was more on Rosier than anyone. However, I blame him for not getting Herbert or one of the other young guys ready.

Realize the trash he has to work with.

Mahoney? Jones? Gauthier was low rated but has terned into a gem.

St.Louis was mediocre until Searles got to coaching him.

Donaldson is the only legit talent and he is out of position.

Since I don’t know jack about xo.
Does Kaayas regression have to do more with rpo or drop in OL play.
Did art keep us afloat during poor recruiting?
What are the o line coaches some would like to see here?
Does the rpo give new o line recruits a hard time if they didn’t run it in high school? If so, are we recruiting kids who run it in high school.

Whoever was at Left guard made some bad reads. St Louis also got beat a couple of times because he did not anticipate the corner blitz. People say he was too slow but it was a slow read not his feet that failed.
Jones, by my recollect.

I'll give coach richt credit and he's hinted at it more than once, he said something along the lines of, "those guys(the young qb's) have to began to carry themselves like qb's at a University should carry themselves" in other words coach richt is more cooncerned with the mental growth of his qb's off the field above winning football games on the field. Alot of people called gumbo fisher and Fsu all kinds of names for playing winston while in the midst of those allegations. Coach richt would've been great for winston's off field development, so far, i dont think he will put winning above off field issues with his qb's.

So while perry and company are starting to get first team reps, richt will continue to let them be back-ups untill he thinks they're ready, cause the one thing thus far with rosier, he carries himself well on and off the field. Coach richt is trying to humble those guys and make them to know that the starting qb job is not mandatory but a privilege. He's counting on the team leaders to raise up and get those guys straight. But jimmy johnson like he said, he treated his star players different, that was known so he never lost a team behind the method that he used. We'll see how things pan out with the coach richt way, cause guys want to win here fo real!

So you can play terribly and carry yourself well on the field now? When does actually performing well at your position matter?
