Spring Transfer Portal

Most of them left due to playing time, disciplinary issues & over-signing. They had well above the 85 limit.

They’ve pretty much revamped their Secondary through the Portal after losing most of their young talent & a few to the Draft this Offseason. They picked up Tony Grimes from UNC, Sam McCall from FSU & Josh DeBerry just yesterday. Offensively they brought in Tyrin Smith from UTEP who’s a highly productive Slot-back with good speed, he’ll be a weapon for them.

I gave my assessment of them after their Spring game:

Thanks. Not what I was hoping to read!

Brown is another blah to me at CB. Him + Davis just adds bodies to the room but doesn’t really raise the ceiling at all IMO.

Should be selling out for the Oregon CB if we aren’t already especially considering the relationships there. He has NFL physical talent.
I’m glad we are throwing bodies at the position. Rather than doing what we did with WR last year. No matter how mid tier guys we get there’s no reason a top player couldn’t look at that room and see himself starting.

Agreed. It would be one of those "elevate the floor, not the ceiling" takes. But he's good enough to slide into our two-deep.

I wonder how they would feel about Tj Finley? Putting him in a wide open offense like this one would be a fit. Don’t know if there would be any more playable options out there.

Markevious has more upside than Jaden.

The Davis take doesn’t really do much but add another body, but Brown still has potential.

We should be definitely aiming higher & trying to get better talent, but for whatever reason Miami seems to be a hard sell for perimeter players in the Portal. High value WR’s & DB’s be dodging the fck outta us lol

Former 3-star out of Valdosta, GA. Went to Lowndes, 6'4'' 203 lb.

There were initial OU rumors when he hit, seems like it's a matter of time.
