Not sure why some Miami fans think every blue-chipper will just get better every year. Have you seen his name mentioned a lot? Might be a reason for that.

Thing about Williams, when he is out there, he seems to make plays, especially in coverage

Are we giving up on him that quickly? Has he really been that bad in practice that he can't at least contribute this year? He didn't necessarily flash by any means this year, but I thought he made some nice plays in the run game. I'm not criticizing you or saying you're wrong, because you see more than anyone else on this board. I just figured the reason we weren't hearing much was because he's be limited with an injury

I'm not "giving up on him that quickly". We can sign a one-year Portal guy and not "give up" on a younger guy.

What are our options? Waiting?

****. I'm not sure if I should be pleased or frightened that you know that, but you deserve props for it.
 
All I know Patterson has been out this spring with an injury, but he flashed striking and tackling ability as a true freshman. The mental part of the game with coverages, etc..is where he needs to continue to grow.

I hope his parents have his insurance paid up cause if he gets hit by one of the Bigboys he may get broke in two...

I don’t think he played enough snaps to just throw him out. When he did play, I remember him flashing and being a solid tackler. I also remember this board talking him when he got in the games that they wanted him to get more PT..
