Spring PractiSe 2: Thursday 3-26

Thornton is playing boundary/free Safety...
Fitzgerald is at Nickel. Fitz will also slide back to FS on passing downs. Fitz wants to bulk up a little more to prepare for the role. (think he said he's at 192)

The Nickels and Safeties are trained to be interchangeable...so Thornton will play some Nickel as well.

JJ is super talented and got plenty of praise during practice, but he ain't unseating Thornton. Thornton has the violence and experience that Hetherman covets. He's twitchier than Thomas and better in coverage (IMO). He made a phenomenal play on Mali on a wheel route during team period. (on Tuesday) Strapped him up.

Not hyperbole...
But I think we might have the best CB duo in the country. OJ has developed into a grown a$s man. He's every bit of 6'1" and ripped/jacked. And Lucas, who was kinda raw previously, is now becoming a much better technician. His press coverage on Tuesday was unreal. He's so big, long and fast that he's **** near impossible to run away from. He dominated his 1-on-1 periods. The DB coaches are doing a great job with these kids. There's some other talent in the CB room, but from a technique and confidence standpoint I think it falls off after OJ/XL. You can tell who's been here a minute and who's fresh outta high school.

Yall are gonna love Milan and Wingo.
Milan's catch radius is silly, and he's not awkward for a kid his size.
Wingo is twitchy and fast for his size.
The CB's even said "Wingo be rollin!" 🤣

Pruitt has to see the field significantly this season. He's too long and athletic not to. He looked great versus the RB's in 1-on-1's.

Probably too early to tell but do you think they’ll carry the press coverage over into the games? Last season had so much bail/ off coverage and i dont really remember much pressing regardless if the call was cov1 or cov3.

Or the DL, or the WRs, or the RBs.

Mario was brought in to bring what we are seeing to fruition. He built it from the foundation up and didn't take shortcuts, and while that upset fans because there were some bad loses those losses were necessary.
For real we had to tare down rebuild from the foundation up. Now we have freak shows premium NFL talent in each position room. And it seems like each year the evals get better and better

Would have to see him play before saying closer to Keionte because with Keionte atleast from my perspective it wasnt just the traits but dude had a will that he wasnt gonna be blocked and ALWAYS made the right move when slipping blocks, like the amount of experience and knowledge you need for that is crazy, idk if you can even teach that, lol.. Dude just said **** this, no one is blocking me idgaf lol..
I agree. keionte was special man, i don't like these comparisons but i understand them.

If that mug looks as different as Bernie does from the 30for30 till now that mug will look like a glass….

Took alot of **** for telling ppl we'd eventually get here but i get why ppl didn't believe in Mario as canes fans we carried alot of ptsd from being mid for 2 decades, hard to be patient. i get weve seen other coaches turn it around instantly but we want to build a MACHINE not a flash in the plan. This is the Miami standard were seeing now, elite talent across the 2 deep 3 deep at most positions, this was never gonna be acheived overnight. If we dont walk away from the cristobal era w/ at least 1 natty id be shocked.

Team is absolutely loaded and the schedule is cake

Just counting on Mirabel to do one **** of a coaching job
