sportscenter: the death of Jerome Brown

Great guy. Fun as **** to hang with. Natural athlete, slacked in the weight room didn't matter at all. He just had it.

People dont talk about Brown enough. HE, to me, was the Godfather of UM Swag.

Baddest Cane of all time. Yes, even badder than Sean Taylor, fellas.

We talk about the swag that Miami created - he was the ringleader of it all.

Ask Jimmy, ask Troy Aikman, or any other NFC East QB back then. JB and his Eagles werent nothing to 4uck with.

A force of nature and more importantly a leader who made his teammates better player , just look at Golic (ND) and Reggie (UT), they knew what a true mountain of a man he was.

He was a great one. One of the saddest days as a Canes fan. His salute got me so fired up watching games. He was a great pro also. Definitely would have had a bust in the HOF.

Go Canes!

Imo, the greatest player to ever wear the U.

Agreed! My favorite UM player of all time and my favorite football player of all time! I have written many posts about Jerome but words cannot do justice to what he meant to me and to this U. R.I.P.

Thank you for that! I couldn't agree more! Everything you said is 1000% on the money! I'll never forget the day I heard the news about his death. I was watching ESPN and they interrupted the program to let the viewers know. I cried that day. I'll freely admit it. I cried my eyes out. That one really hurt. I can't put into words what the UM family, the Eagles and the Brown family lost that day. R.I.P. Jerome! We really miss you.

He and Ed Reed are my favorite Canes of all time. He was an absolute unstoppable force at the U. Jim Donnan, former UGA head coach and OL coach at Oklahoma during the 80s, has said on many times that Brown was completely unblockable. They could never figure out a way to get him blocked during those epic Miami v OU games in the 80s.

We've lost two guys that were sure fire, no doubt, first ballot, Hall of Famers in JB and ST. Jerome was the embodiment of the Canes.

I remember that day, too. I think it was a weekend morning. Anyway, I just remember being so sad about it. I wasnt an Eagles fan, but i was a UM fan and boy, let me tell you -- that hit me hard. Still does, to this day. I know it's crazy, but because of this, Ill probably never buy a Corvette. Nothing against the car, I just can't take owning one now. Too much sadness.... I can still see his car in shambles on the TV screen.. It was a ZR1 if im not mistaken....

He was so much fun to watch. Just an absolute beast who let the other teams know he was gonna beat their *** all day long. He is definitely on the Mt Rushmore of Canes
